    Hi Carole,

This sounds very similar to the pain i had after having an attack. I had high stomach pain across the body and could actually feel something sub-cutaneous. this was subsequently confirmed as organ swelling resulting the panceatitis attack. you will do well to get checked out in my humble opinion

Carole hi, I agree that you should be checked out.  The pancreas is tricky and requires a pancreas specialist, not your GP or even a gastroenterologist unless specifically trained.  Initially your doc can order bloods, and a CT to check out the swelling beneath.  However if you have Chronic Pancreatitis bloods may appear normal which can throw some doc's unfamiliar with the pancreas and result in an incorrect normal pancreas diagnosis.  That's why a pancreas specialist is best.

My CT showed calcification of my pancreas and the diagnosis was confirmed by a pancreas specialist who performed an ERCP.  He's been managing me since.

Diet, digestive enzymes and a PPI have helped enormously although I'm aware of my pancreatitis 24x7 and deal with issues all the time which I'm able to manage myself so far.  Good luck.
