I am one week tomorrow a displaced fith metatarsal .I go to the ortho on the 23 on this month . I am in a black boot up to my knee the dr said it can come off at night .I have not pain little bruising and take no meds Ido feel a little put in one spot on the middle on my side of the foot when i lift it with the boot on . To tell the truth I am just worried sick not know until over another week what kind of fracture I have I did go back to the er to see if boot was on right PA told me she had the same thing I may or may not have to have surgery .I uess I worry so much as I lost my husband a few years ago he was hit from behind broke neck c=2 c=3 then right after kidney issues then right onto cancer he passed away I then became afraid of life dealing with all that .I just hope I am ok I am afraid what if I can't walk again I hope this passes . Wishing everyone a speedy recovery oh yea the first dr said some thing about a pin she said its not major surgery .tks again
