Worried about my symptoms

Posted , 4 users are following.

I'm 17 years old female, 161cm and weigh about 43kg (I have noticed that I've lost some weight in the last two months).

Over the last couple of months I've been very thirsty and find myself constantly drinking water. I drink more than 3 litres a day which is way more than I used to. If I don't drink water for about half an hour I start feeling dehydrated.

In addition to this I've been having trouble with frequent urination, I don't know whether this is just a result from drinking so much water, but it is getting in the way of my day to day life as I'm constantly needing to go to the toilet, and the need is reasonably urgent. I go to the toilet between 8-11 times a day.

I do feel very tired for a lot of the time, but this is something I've been experiencing for a long long time.

I don't know whether I'm being a bit hypercondriacal in being worried that it could be diabetes or not, could someone help me in telling me what you think or giving some advice?

Hi Teen85496 I am not a medically qualified person but please make an urgent appointment with your doctor as your symptoms are similar to those of diabetes.

At least let he or she check you out if for nothing else but to elliminate diabetes as the cause of your symptoms.

Let us know on here how you get on and I wish you well.

If you're drinking 3 litres of water a day (as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks?) it's no wonder you're going to the toilet 8-11 times. It's more worrying that you're very underweight, as you probably know. Your BMI is about 16 which is not good. You should definitely go and see your doctor about your weight loss, and you could mention your thirst and tiredness at the same time.

    Hi

I would see your doctor as soon as possible. I had symptoms for 2 years (not the same as yours though) that went undiagnosed, in the sense that I have other issues that they were attributed to. It may not be diabetes, but there is something not quited right with you body. Hope you get it sorted soon xx
