Worried About Psychosis

Posted , 3 users are following.

I suddenly started getting anxiety attacks and felt exhausted. I went and had everything checked out at my doctor and was fine. Then I started having issues with my sleep with more vivid dreams and hearing voices when I fall asleep. I panicked and went for a mental health evaluation. I was told that these were normal hypnagogic hallucinations.

I can't get these symptoms to go away. Occasionally I wake up from weird dreams or nightmares. I keep dwelling on this and worry that something's seriously wrong. I have days that are okay with feeling anxious and other days are tough. I just wish I knew how to feel better again.

anxiety can cause crazy dreams also. I would say that the more you get the anxiety under control the less you would have those weird dreams and hearing voices. You are not going crazy. practice not dwelling on this because the more you do the more it will happen. That’s because you’re telling your brain that something is wrong so that will increase the anxiety and hence the weird dreams invoices etc. As difficult as it may be, I had to change my attitude about anxiety symptoms. Instead of getting worried and fearful, I took the opposite approach and I completely let it happen without fear. I even "talked" to it. For example I would say " oh there you are again anxiety. Stay as long as you need to but I have other things to do right now. "

it’s taking a matter of fact approach so that you take away the power of anxiety and the sensations and symptoms.

Don’t give away your power .

A therapist once told me to do that and for me it really works well. I don’t mind doing that because I know no matter how many anxiety symptoms I get or sensations, they are not harmful. They can be scary but that’s all they can do. so instead of an emotional response to anxiety such as fear, I take a relaxed whatever attitude.

If you’re having trouble falling or staying asleep, I recommend you listening to a soothing relaxing meditation for anxiety or sleep on YouTube. I never get through the whole thing because I fall asleep it’s so relaxing. There are so many of them. Check it out. I hope you feel better soon have a nice evening .
