Hi Rachael, what have you been prescribed sertraline for? I take it for severe anxiety and mild depression - I seemed to experience all of its side effects for the first 16/17 days but I am into week 3 now and feeling better than I have in the last 2 and a half years! I hope it works well for you.

Hi I was feeling the same before I started on it it 3 weeks ago. I have been lucky and had few side effects and they have been totally manageable. A little sickness and tummy upset in the first 24 hrs. I have had a lack of sexual interest and reaching orgasm is a lot harder but I am glad to report today not impossible lol.

I am also seeing some of my symptoms lesson. The fuzzy and overwhelming feeling that consumed me is much less. I seem to be having more rationale thoughts and I have been out with friends. These are small steps but I am bearing with it as I am aleady feeling better after only 3 weeks.

hope this gives you some hope. Xxx

I was given it for anxiety and what i would describe as mild depression also. It started with the anxiety and more recently depression has snuck in. I can't even speak to people without getting panicky, even thinking about speaking or just being around people gets me started. Not good when i work in a supermarket, i dread going to work because of it. I don't have that problem at home when it's just me and my wee girl- but then it's more the depression that gets to me, i really hope the sertraline will help me and glad to know there's people here to talk to if i need help, thanks guys x

I became very similar, I am currently a student nurse but the anxiety got so bad that I would be awake all night worrying that I would have a panic attack or feel unwell with it on my journey to university or the hospital. This week i have made two long train journeys and not thought twice about it. I saw my doctor this morning for my review and she said that they won't even be in my system properly yet so if I'm feeling this much better already, I'm excited for what's to come! Hopefully in a few months time, will be back to our old selves!

Yes hopefully back to our old selves in no time. I cannot wait to be me again, i used to be so outgoing and happy now i avoid human contact where possible and when it's not possible and i have to interact, most of the time i feel like i'm going to explode! I go all hot sweaty and red, breathing goes funny and i just want to run away. I also keep getting this thing where i feel like my brain is racing round at a million miles an hour and i can't think even the simplest of thoughts, i need to sit or lie there until it stops and i can think properly again, so weird. Glad you are feeling better, long may it continue x

Bear with the side effects, not great but not hideous. I take mine in the morning after making sure I have eaten something as this will help

With any mild sick feeling x

And you are the one who deleted my posts, aren't you?

You should be ashamed of yourself

Alex these forums are for support, not arguments or telling people they should be ashamed of themselves. It says above that your posts were deleted by a moderator, not another poster.

      Alex,

I deleted your posts as they contained unsuitable links and you pasted whole articles from other sites. I have also deleted other posts in other discussions as you were posting the same comments in the same threads over and over again. You do not need to repeatedly post the same comments several times in the same discussion and this is actually in breach of the T&Cs. If you have any issues you can send me a private message. There is an FAQ section linked at the bottom of every page in the forums that has more information about these points.

      Thanks for the reply,

But Alan, don't you think that prospective users of ssris should be made aware of something so important and profound as pssd?

Undoubtedly, antidepressants are beneficial for some people. They save some peoples' lives. But they also ruin others', too.

      Regards,

      Alex
