Worried about testicle!

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi I discovered a small lump at the top of my testicle! I'm not sure if its near the veins I'd describe it as tiny and weird! I am a 26 year old and went for an ultrasound 10 days ago and all was fine!

After checking last night I was up being sick thinking the worst. I have been suffering with anxiety lately and wondered if this is just another episode. The more I think about it the more the testicle seems to ache too and it feels cold! I am absolutely petrified something serious is wrong!

I have booked another appointment with my gp today but I am just so worried!

Any help would great

If your GP is happy and the US scan was negative then I suggest that you can relax and simply monitor the tiny lump yourself.  If it changes or the symptoms increase then reconsult your GP - or another GP in the practice if you want a 2nd opinion - and ask again for advice or referral to a consultant urologist.

Groins ans testicles are emotive areas... so understandabkly patients are worried and concerned.  Doctors are also concerned and if in doubt will always refer for further tests or specialists opinion.

I was referred to see a specialist doctor and a urologist yesterday! They assured me that it may be a small cyst but it is not cancerous and I can relax and feel relief!

The doctors said that it may be sports I play causing it to ache and feel uncomfortable. Argh well I feel totally at ease now even though it still aches I have just been taking low dose ibuprofen!

Your GP is correct.  A lot of groin pains are referred from elsewhere - pain the groin come from both the spine and the hip.  However lumps are local problems never referred.  Perhaps you have two separate problems - neither of them serious - and the small lump is simply a common cyst of little consequence and the referred pain could be cured by a good chiropractor (Just as you should not keep going to a physio or other manual therapist,  don't go to a chiropractor more than three or four times because if the pain hasn't eased the treatment is obviously not working!)

I still find myself concerned about this issue of the testicle! It's like I can't let it go!

I have seen 2 specialists and they have said it can't be anything serious but its so hard for my mind to let it go. Before seeing the specialist I had seen a radiologist and had an ultrasound at the beginning of this month and nothing.

i now worry because I have back pain even though that's probably just from sports! The mind tells me otherwise!

As I said before... you probably have TWO SEPARATE problems.

I recommend that you consult a good local chiropractor to eliminate the testicle pain.  Give me your nearest town/city and I'll contact a colleague to ask which chiropractor would be the best one to see.
