Worried and fed up

Hi new to the site, after heavy bleeding which lasted 6 weeks and a visit to AandE was sent for a ultasound scan and the internal scan in mid Aug, a few days later my doctor told my they found two complex cysts on right ovary and that another scan should be done in three weeks however I was given another ultasound scan but not the internal the following week, this didn't show anything and the doctor said they must have gone but I started bleeding again which has now been for 4 weeks, I'm very bloated, tired and sometimes feel quiet sick. The first scan I had only shown the cysts with the internal scan not the ultasound, I now have sharp stabbing pain on right side and a dull ache on my back any advice would be well received

Thats a bit weird have u been tested for endometriosis? I get pains in my ovaries as well., but my womens/baby making parts are dead. So wen i had them kibda of pains they found a couple of stones moving from 1 kidney to the other and making stops in my bladder. My kidney dr said since i dnt get my menzis anymore and i shouldnt get cramps to get tested for kidney stones, on top of it i cant pass them on my own. So the main surgeon were i live dnt care and i got 3 stones right now, as i type my left ovary has been kicking my butt all day. Point of story my dr said they miss it but she knows for fact having a stone herself we get pains in our ovaries, bck,n cramp like feelings. I would suggest a cat scan with drink contrast n iv contrast. Also if it ends up just being cysts get the laparoscopy to see if its endometriosis.

Dear aja2278, thank you for you post, I too thought it could be endometriosis as everything I have read seems to point to it, I have heard that it doesn't always show up on a ultasound scan, due back to my doctor in a fortnight, but tonight feeling very bloated and fed up, sorry to hear about your health problems and I hope you get sorted soon

Ty lis44, they had thought i had endometriosis, but the only true way of finding out is with a laparoscopy. The er dr did it 2 passify my mom. It was a new hospital 2 us and they did lots of test even ruined my veins n juggilure ones as well. I didnt have it they said just some cyist thier none to worry about after mayb 100 cat scans, ultrasounds, and any test possibly. I had my kedney stones removed several times seems i get proned stones. I was in a bad Scooter accident. On 1 of my attacks we were @ a different hospital and on a cat scan i believe my organs mostly my diaphragm and stomach were not in the correct spot. So i had emergency surgery to fix it. When they went in the had 2 remove my apendix as it was ready to Explode while they were in from all the yrs of throwing up so terribly they took out a hiatal hernia. So yay we where so happy no more pain n getting sick so we thought. Well as of last july 4th that would have been 20 yrs of fighting this battle, but its been longer we have found out. I was a pleasent bby i was told but now they think the times i acted up it had to b i wad in pain ive been battling since u get yr women hood but i was a late bloomer n got my menzi late but i still curled up on the cold bathroom floor with arms around the toilet. Every1 joked n laughed oh shes going 2 have bad periods every1 thought. Nope just about 6 months ago. This new surgeon at our local hospital passified us with a gallblader test. Guess wat i cried like a bby from wat i saw the iodine went in the gallblader dwn a bit n up it came bck. The tech thought i was in pain n i told her no happy tears i know what i seen n she explained to me as it did it again. As we all thought n a 20 yr old test and machine proved every1 wrong but us. Its been a good 6 months. Now im stronger i eat almost anything i want. With my new meds change feel on top of the world. Since i dnt want 2 mess up my meds n want 2 take them right. I got this app 4 my phone its great and keeps

records about everything, also very helpful 4 ur drs. Its called carezone i believe u can find it ur playstore. I dnt know how i got it but its been so helpful to me. I suggest u get it. Theirs so many things u can do on it. Happy hunting

May I kindly ask in short: what was your diagnose at the end please and how was it fixed?

Hi Lis. I would go back to your doc and ask for another Vaginal ultrasound as your symptoms are getting worse. Also ask to be referred to a gynae oncologist as they are the specialists who deal with ovarian cysts of any type. Sometimes they just monitor them for size and growth or lack of it. I hand a Vag ultrasound and an abdominal us. Nothing showed on the abdominal scan but the Vag us showed a cyst about 6cms dia. We sometimes have to push the GP's to refer us for more tests and to see a consultant, we entitled to ask for this!  I had my cyst removed last April and recovered well. All the best, Pollyanna UK rolleyes

Thank you Pollyanna, back to doctors in a fortnight and will be asking for the vaginal scan as I know this isn't right, glad to hear you recovered well. I had never heard of complex cysts before, but have since read that they rarely just disappear, especially in a week

Could be cyst is twisting your ovary. Very painful and localized. But could also be endometriosis. I had massive bloating (no pain surprisingly). Also huge cysts developed because of endometriosis.

Complex cysts typically don't go away. An MRI would tell more and possible better diagnosis. Soft tissue issues are difficult to diagnose.

Have you been referred to a Gynecologist? Better to get in now so a treatment plan (removal) can be put in place instead of wait and see and pain meds.

Hi beenthereSr, thank you, my doctor after seeing the ultasound scan just told me to carry on taking the tablets to stop the bleeding and that scan didn't show anything and that was it no further advice from him which was rather up setting as nothing had changed, but that's why I'm going back with a friend to try an get another vaginal scan

    Lis,

Ask for a referral to a Gynaecologist. GPs wait and see attitude can drag this out for months. So many women in this forum have to fight to see a Gynae. I was dismissed as 'normal' by 3 different GPs over a 6 month span.

Was sent to surgery 3 weeks after first Gynae visit! Over 10 lbs of cysts and endometrial tissue where removed.

Had been battling fague symptoms for years but never realized it wasn't just part if getting older.

Thank you so much, I thought it was the early start to the menopause when I first noticed some changes like gaining weight and the change to my periods but when the periods didn't stop I knew there was something more, the pain isn't to bad just sharp busts of it but the bloating is so uncomfortable especially when i sit down, but thanks to this site I'm not letting it lay there will be pushing for more to be done

Stay strong and fight for you. I am still stunned you have to fight just to see a Gynecologist! After dealing with my issue I was stunned how unaware the average GP is.
