worried brain

Bit of a long post so apologies in advance

I’m a 29 year old female, overweight with fibromyalgia living in the UK. In February 2021 I was exercising to try and lose weight and started to get a sharp stabbing pain in my outer right hand thigh, just below the halfway point, it’s a very sudden sharp pain that gets worse with physical activity and walking

I spoke to my gp after having it for 3 months and it not having changed and they told me to try naproxen, it managed to hide the pain but as soon as I stopped it was back, after that the advice was amitriptyline which didn’t help at all, the next phone call after that gave me a physiotherapy appointment with exercises which hasn’t helped either, so after 8 months in I phoned for a final time and got sent more youtube videos on different stretches (the gp diagnosed me with myalgia parasthetica)

Another 2 months after that I gave up and booked myself a private steroid injection after googling what treatment is available for myalgia parasthetica. Turned up to the appointment where he asked me questions and said he didn’t think it was myalgia parasthetica because I don’t have any numbness or pins and needles and its located just on one point, he asked me to stand up and pressed my hip bone which caused a rather loud squeal and me trying to run away. He said he thought I had hip bursitis and did an ultrasound to show me the inflammation, proceeded to do the steroid injection which took around 20 minutes because he said my tendons were strong because of my age, he was a fantastic doctor and I felt very at ease with him

So onto the real reason im asking a question, the pain I get is a lot lower down and not on my hip but I got carried away with him finding something incredibly painful and now im wondering if hip bursitis can cause a sharp nerve pain in the outside thigh? My brain wont stop panicking that I had an expensive injection to possibly the wrong area, I only had the injection 3 days ago so im still on the ow faze and not expecting results but I’d like to calm down and stop thinking I’ve managed to do the wrong treatment by being an idiot

Many thanks in advance,

samantha
