Worried, confused, depressed about my wife suddenly having HSV1 & 2- Help!!!

Have been married 20 years
10 yrs ago (2007) my told me routine bloods had shown an STD (not what type). She accused me of giving it to her. I was tested for everything, all neg. She then had a follow up test and told me it was neg. We forgot all about it.
6 weeks ago my wife had a very bad vaginal infection looked at. It was swabbed and tested Positive HSV1. Again she said I must have given it to her. I was blood tested and I'm Neg HSV1 & 2.
She said it must have come either from her life before our marriage or she must have got it from a towel or from a non romantic kiss and then touched herself and autoinnoculated.
We found the old tests from 10 years ago and to my surprise (remember she wasn't specific about what STD back then) she was HSV2 + and HSV1 - BUT we couldn't find the second test that said she was neg.
This means the HSV1 must have happened in the most recent 10 years of our marriage.
The specialist blood tested her for both again and it has returned positive for both.
The 2007 confirmation blood test that she said was negative can't be found. We can find the request for it however (a Western Blot)
Strangely, my wife has gone back to her Dr (same one from 10 years) and she had found a third test in 2007. Another blood test done before the WB would have been ready. It confirms + HSV2 and - HSV1.
My wife denies having affairs- I love her and want to believe her- but it seems at the very least I must believe that she has recently got HSV1 through a non sexual event during our marriage AND I must accept she some how forgot to tell me she was HSV2 positive 10 years ago - or that the missing WB test will say neg. Or she was confused and can't remember etc, etc (but we have discussed it over the years and Herpies was never mentioned)
What is happening here? To us? Help!!!

What type of blood tests were they and how did she score? Herpes tests are not as reliable like most others. It can miss HSV1 and give false low positives for HSV2, so anything's possible without precise info. Worst case scenario, you both do the western blot, but it has to be the one from the University of Washington only.
