Worried I am lifting my Shoulder 9 days post op?

I had my rotator cuff repair on 12th June. Very pleased as I was expecting a patch

Saw Physio yesterday just for wound check. I am just doing a few basic hand and lower arm exercises neck etc

I am finding getting in and out of the sling very difficult Going to buy anew one getting dressed is a nightmare for me

My problem is that I had failed surgery 15 months ago Rather the surgeon was unable to repair it at that time

My main worry just now when trying to use only my left arm I find I am tensing the repaired Shoulder and maybe raising it .Any idea how I can avoid this or is it harmful

Can I use the fingers on that hand when the sling is in place

I feel this is my last chance I live alone Any advice would be appreciated Sue

It is now 31 days post.op for me I continue to make slow but steady progress

My Sister Daughter and a nephew were concerned that I was confused

This because some of my texting was goggled hook

For whatever reason I am hitting a lot of wrong keys I have no idea why

For some time now I hav got a fast and a bit irregular The hospital medical team were asking me to see my GP need a continuous ECG I want to defer this until I am finishing with the sling I am still sleeping poorly I think I am. Doing ok

I saw my physio in floods of.years She and Joe have been treating me for 15 months She agree I am just sleep deprived

The good news is that they both say a good solid repair has been achieved I have been very anxious Yesterday it.jusy let me take the weight of the arm Lying down and with the exception of bringing the arm.towards my body no pain what so ever I am tender in two areas The outside of the upper arm What.they want me to do is take my arm out of the sling and rest it on my lap that feels ok I am to continue the gentle exercise I am doing at home She says that the physio is tailored to each individual needs With me and because of the various challenges it is slow and steady I will be seen again next Thursday when they will begin to wean me off the sling

My family love me and are concerned they are just worried and rather than being confused I am simply hitting wrong keys

I have made an appt to see my GP tachycardia has been a problem dropped beats etc It is always coming up Repeat ECG on the morning of surgery My text ing is slow and laboured

I am to continue Sleeping uprighy Su is impressred with some of the ways I am dealing with the challenges following this surgery including my nest Showering I had a collar and cuff sling when I had my previous surgery am using that sling. To hold my arm against my body I wash the rest of my body I think better than letting my arm drop down I let the arm hang and then wash that side I put my arm back to this whilst I dry part of my body I was a midwife They say this is good I think at the outset a repair was not on the agenda and having achieved a repair I was frozen with feat I am becoming more confident and I slept s bit longer last night I am assured that I am not to panic at every creak

I am a fool but a happy fool this y

I am very glad of my pre op plans of having Cleaners they were here yesterday and my twice weekly hair appt she is coming sitting in front of a mirror help me see where I am going dressing and the challenge of the sling I am happy this am Thanks again and the barricades are in position at night so not concerned about turning on my right side I can't remember who but thank you for the suggestion

    Thanks again Sue
