Worried regarding results of biopsy

I had a polyp removed two weeks ago and just received letter telling me to ring surgery for phone appt to discuss results. Could not get phone appt today and have to ring on Monday which means I have got the whole weekend to stress about the result. I can only think they find cancer cells and they got in time . Has anybody been in the same situation like me Thanks

Oh no- that's not good to have to stress all wknd.
Could you ring the specialist's secretary and explain to her, you cannot get an appointment?
She may be able to see if there is another way to get your results.
I hope you get sorted and that your results when you get them are good. Let us know how you get on.

It could be for a lot of reasons: to give you reassurance about the result, to advise you as to when you should next have a test or to tell you if there are any reasons to have more frequent tests or whether you need a further consultation because of any suspicious findings. So it could be to tell you anything basically. It's pointless to tell someone not to stress because we all do it when there is any risk of something unpleasant happening, but, honestly, the need to ring the surgery to discuss the findings could be anything from nothing to something - or somewhere in between. A single polyp is a very common thing but your doctor is bound to pass on the contents of any report from a hospital or consultant which may be nothing more than "no problems; come back in three years" and getting you to call is easier for the doctor than sending you letters or getting you in for a consultation. I don't think you can read anything into it at all.

Try not to worry it's normal procedure to talk over your results. If it was serious I'm sure they would have made you a appointment

I agree with what others have said. I think calling for your results is just their 'routine way' of letting the patients know the actual results. It truly sounds that most likely all is well.
I understand your apprehension, because of your sister. Try to enjoy your weekend... best of luck to you... and prayers that everything is just fine!
