Morning Nellie,  sorry to have to inform you of this, but once you experience Tinnitus sadly, you could be stuck with it.  Most of us on this Eustachian Tube Dysfunction Forum suffer it.  I have for over 30yrs.  Sometimes it's louder than other times and I think after all these years my brain has adjusted to it and I've learnt to ignore it. If you're managing to pop your ears and the tubes stay open that's good.  Unfortunately, I can do this too, but once open they usually close up again.  Unless surgery or Prednisolone steroid tablets are used....no answer to this wretched problem !!  I've recently finished a 20 day reducing course of the tablets and I feel great at the moment.  Smell and taste back, ears good, sinus issues good and even allergies issues not too bad.  I'm still taking my daily antihistamine though.  Also back using Flixonse nasal spray (steroid based)

I do hope you get some relief from the tinnitus and it deos eventually go.

    Kind regards Anne

Make sure you dont have wax buildup. That would be the first thing to do. Then it all depends on your body. I had the flu end of december. The popping is a new horrif addition. Stinks! But it comes and goes and now they are blaming tmj. I gave uo with ents. I started acuounture last week. They told me after five session youll know if this is a working thing for you. I see a TCM medical doctor not some spa. What i can say after one visit they seem to know more about the body or at least take the five minutes to explain stuff.  They put in needles..they are thin you wouldnt even know it is happening if your eyes are closed just dont move (moving hurts with needles) and stuff drains. I dont know but there is something to it. So maybe look into that. Its not expensive if it heals you and many insurance covers a certain amount of visits if you use an MD. Its just easier then worrying and getting all flustered because thats what it was doing to me. But i just started with it. And they examine you first so they do use both tradional meds and chinese acuouncture. After all they used it for like 3000 years so makes sense to see theres more then one way to go at this.

If you have been using motrin or nsaids stop. Same with too much tea oddly. They cause tinnitus. Then id say two months before the ringing calms down if thats the cause.. most of it is temporary an ent did tell me that much. Look up oto toxic medications. That whole search is why i went to tradional chinese medicine. There is a place for medicine too im not saying there isnt but at some point it makes sense to try something else too. Especially if it can and does work.
