Anyway I have the nail that went down the knee, and when I fell in landed sideways on knee and ankle, worried, but surgeon wont be back till Monday. Oh dear. My physio told me that we can get / feel pain anywhere along the broken bone , even if tapped from the opposite end.

Take it easy til you see the Specialist. Keep that moon boot on. I too fell over recently. Bruised around my break/plate site, and tore a muscle on the other leg.

If in doubt go to hospital. Recovering from a break is scary. Many unknowns. Seems like a few ups, and surprise downs. It does get easier.

    Take care.

I broke mine 41 weeks ago today. My husband broke his hand 38 weeks ago tomorrow. We drive each other spare. A work accident for him, with a harsh boss who gave him the boot. Both had ops in Feb. Both had to stay in hospital because we couldn't look after each other lol!??

      I had a bone graft.

We have to use this site to help each other. The unknown! I can weight bare now, but using 2 legs at once.

My tear up in muscle after bursting my baking Cyst, all in opposite leg to break, was the straw that broke the camel's back. 2 lovely ladies gave me encouragement during night- from other parts of the world. Bought tears to my eyes.????

What I enjoy about my recovery, apart from the support, is the reconnect between my brain and broken healing plated ankle. Dreamed of this moment!

      Stay strong

Hi Tracy, I also broke my tibia and fibula in February, had orif surgery in March. I am fine now walking and doing 90% of what I used to. Please don't put any weight on your leg until you have seen your surgeon. If the moon boot hurts your take the inners out and use them for support. Keep on with the ice and also keep leg elevated if you have pain meds use and ant inflammatory tablets use them. I hope it is nothing serious. Please keep us updated. Good luck and God bless.

Great advice. Or put soft padding around foot, take moonboot padding out, and put moon boot on. No badges for taking any risks.

Thankyou Daphine,  that is good advise, will try.I'm afraid to go on crutches again, just using a roll on computer chair downstairs and walker up. Sounds like you have made good progress mf, good for you. Thanks again, I have been icing and elevating, but that foam inside will give me some protection. Take care

Hi, I did put the boot on for a bit yesterday,  mabey that is why my foot a nd knee feel worse today, or its the weather must be 100 or feels like, if I knew what kind of padding, but it really isn't that it is so heavy just hurts lifting my leg. But yet my leg would be safer and supported more, I will try that too.

Padding bandage. I assume hospital or pharmacy/ chemist might stock. Comes in a big roll.

My plate area aches when weather is damp and or cold.
