Worrying symptoms that doctors keep ignoring

Posted , 7 users are following.

Hello everybody,

A few weeks ago I did a post because I had some worrying symptoms that the doctors weren't taking serious, after reading your replys I talk to my GP, and she did me an Neurology exam,

With my eyes closed I couldn't touch my nose with my finger, and I couldn't stay balanced, i also had no strengh.

After performing the exam the doctor said that it was stress,

I refuse to aceept that!

I have a pretty "normal" life, I deal really god with stress and Im actually really chill and very go with the flow, nothing really affects me, Im also very good comunicating with other people and It doesn't make sense that all my pain can be caused by anxiety.

My GP did not made me an appoiment for a neurologist but she did said that if I ever puke to go rigth away to the ER... So this lets me thinking... She is worried that am really sick but she doesn't wants to waste her time?! I dont know... Im pretty upset!

She said that if it was something lifethreatening something more serious would have happen by now since my symptoms started around 9 months ago...

Since the my last post I have been experiencing a new symptom, its like water running inside my head ( sorry if it makes no sense),

I just dont know what to do anymore since the doctors seem to not care at all,

Im so so tired, I wake up like 5 or 6 times during the night because my headaches are so strong and medicine doesn't work!! I feel so dizzy that even siting down keeps me seeing stars,

If this was your situation, what would you do??

Thank you all for reading

Hi Maria, ,,lovey.....as you are so very worried. ..and i can see why....go back to your GP and say that you want a second opinion.... you have every right too,,and as once again , she has not put your mind at rest ....she should comply.....if she still will not help . Then you can report her for what you view as lack of care....you have every right to a second opinion, can you take someone with you to back you up....even if all is okay, the worry and stress alone will wear you down...,,if wish you good luck and good health....remember she is paid to take care of you.....warm hugs lovey..,,dee xxxx

That is just unacceptable! Doctors should go above and beyond to reassure their patients. I would run and never look back at that doctor. I had to do that just recently and I found an amazing doctor with a wonderful bedside manner. That's what you need I think. They're out there. Do some research and find that doctor. I'm sure you're scared and you should not have to feel that way. I mean really....telling your patient "oh well if it were serious something would've happened by now!!" What?!! Totally unacceptable! Call their superior and get a new opinion. Wishing you the best. Let us know how it goes.

Hi ,I totally agree it is unacceptable,,,,,good doctors do Go above and beyond ,,,,I'm lucky in one spence to have 2 great doctors at my health centre who understand me and my illness ,,,,,sadly as they are so great ,,,they get fully booked very  quickly as everyone wants to see them ,,,,I'm quite happy to see any of the gps or nurse practitioners,,,,,if my problem is something quite simple ,,,,( in my opinion ) ,,,,but if it's something ongoing such as COPD chest infections etc I would like to see one of the two GPs,

but if I saw one of the the other doctors ,,,,,and wasn't totally satisfied I would definitely ask for a second opinion ,

I know right! I actually had just switched doctors because even the front desk staff were impersonal and cold. It's true that the front desk leaves the first impression and I was lucky to then stumble across two of the greatest OB/GYN doctors ever. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Hi there. I would also like to add that you get your BP checked arelative hnd an eye examination. My relative often had headaches and BP was later found to be the cause. Eye exam tests can shed light on the structure and/or functioning of important nerves around the head - the exam is not just to determine if you need eyeglasses or not! Best of luck and hope gets sorted real quick.

Its not that the doctors dont care its the doctor you saw. Switch doctors this Doctor is not a good match for you.  Very disturbing you were not given a referral.  I would leave that office and never return. It is so rude and callous for your GP to ignore your request. Maybe she felt you faked your nuero exam with her and became annoyed, but a nuero would be more proficient in your care for this issue. You are a bit vague on symptoms and findings but either way you seem unhappy and untrusting of your GP so it is time to leave that practice.

Hi Maria, a few years ago I was suffering with very similar symptoms to yourself and was repeatedly ignored by my doctor. Eventually after around 3/4 months I saw a different doctor who diagnosed labyrinthitis. If you have not heard of this you should look it up. Mine was easily treated within 2 weeks with a strong course of antibiotics and I was back to normal. It is usually caused by a viral (or less commonly a bacterial) infection which affects the innermost part of the ear that affects balance. It cause severe headaches, dizziness, nausea, numbness, and fainting/collapsing along with other less common symptoms. I hope you get the the bottom of your problems soon!
