Worsening headaches!

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced lots of headaches with pmr/prednisone? I've always been a headache type of person😖 but the past few weeks I wake up with them in the am and they're with me ALL day! They literally make me nauseous. Not fun!

    Hi Lynda,

This last two months, I have had a lot more headaches.  I  had migraines before PMR.

I have wondered if it goes along with tapering and my body trying to kick back in.  Last two months from 9 to 7.5mg Prednisone.

I have noticed with clouds it is especially bad along with more fatigue.   Yes nausea is horrible and actually worse than the headache.

I hope you feel better.   I can’t eat anything with sugar or anything with too much salt  in the evening.  I also avoid at all cost MSG.   My PMR symptoms are better now, so I feel like I have traded the worse part of PMR for headaches.  ☹️

    Hi Lynda,

Yes I have had bad headaches below 10mg, really got worse with nausea as yours have.

I do have bouts of sinus trouble too, my gp has started me on a strong nasal spray and propanalol as this can reduce the headaches, it has worked to some extent, they are less now and definitely not as painful also don’t last as long.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Have you tried ordinary pain killers? If they go with painkillers the likelihood of them being GCA is small.

Have you reported them to your doctor? If not, you should.

    Where are they?
