worst pain ever from first herpees out break!!

hi, hoping someone could help me I am in so much pain, on Monday I went to the clinic as I had blisters on my lady parts the doctor told me it was genital herpees, I got it from my boyfriend who apparently didn't know he had it, anyway, the pain is unbearable! when I lie down, sit down or even just move, when I'm peeing I need to squeeze a towel as it feels like boiling water, I feel quite unwell too, I've had to phone in sick to work. They prescribed me tables for it and I'm on my 3rd day of them, I've been taking cocodemol as paracemtol and brofen weren't working, I've been putting Vaseline on before peeing and keeping the area very clean, going for baths, drying the area with a hair dryer on low level but it's still very sore I don't know what to do, how long will it last and is there anything at all that will ease the pain I would pay all my wages just to get some relief sad

I’m sooo sorry you feel like this... I was diagnosed over a month ago. It was the worst experience of my life. The pain, like you described is unbearable. Make sure you drink lots and lotsss of water, it helps to dilute the urine. What medication are you taking? And at what dosage? I had to get a bucket full of water, because I don’t have a tub and pee in there... you can try that. Also, lydocaine helps to numb it. Try those salt baths also.... I’ve never tried but people say it helps.. it’s not easy, I thought my life was over and that I would never feel normal again. You will be okay.... and this will pass. I also took a billion pictures to compare everyday. Try not to wet underwear and wear a dress if you can. Get lots of rest and like I said, drink lots of water. Every time I had to pee I would scream in pain. It felt like acid was being poured all down my lady parts. Any other questions feel free to ask me or send me a private message.

I definitely recommend asking your doctor if you can get a prescription of lidocaine. It is seriously the best thing I’ve done. It still burns the sores when I pee, but it isn’t as bad. I don’t cry when I go now 😅. Also I got one of those soft gel ice packs. It has been my best friend. It soothes the swelling and kind of numbs the pain a little bit. Especially when I’m trying to sleep. I’m also new to this and am learning how to deal with the terrible pains as I go.

      Hi Caitlin,

I also have hvs2, i found using an ice pack wrapped in a towel between my legs helped at night with the pain to sleep.

Hi. Lidocaine kept me sane and can be bought over the counter in the uk, pricy but worth it. I’m female and found that standing up to pee, one leg either side of the bowl, helped a lot. Sudocrem can also help. I almost wrenched the washbasin off the wall a number of times so I know what it’s like but it does get better. All the best.

Take something for information like Aleve, hang on you'll get through this by the time you finish the meds.

    Hi darling

I’m also suffering at the moment.  This is my second OB and oh my lord it’s agony.  I have never known pain like it.  I’m on about day 6 I think.  The blisters are soooooo sore I can’t even put the cream on.  And when I did manage to on day 4 it stung like hell.   Going for a wee is just unbearable & I panic when I need to go.

If it’s any help I stand in the shower to pee.. I know it’s not the best but I just can’t bare the burning pain when I sit on the loo.

Do any of you lovely ladies have any tips on how to prevent a OB?

I’m diabetic and get regular yeast infections which I just manage to cope with but this H is a totally different ball game.  It’s absolutely soul destroying pain.

Whenever you feel it coming just apply Peroxide to cotton and place it over the affected area, I promise you that it will kill your herpes, do it as many times as you feel comfortable with.  I did this and now I have been free of it for more than three years.  You will notice that the outbreaks are going to be getting smaller and smaller until they just go away.
