I have a dental infection at the moment and woke up about one am to a horrible taste in my mouth, this just got worse until I got so anxious i was vomiting!!! I ended up phoning my mum and then begging her to phone an ambulance, I was utterly convinced I was seriously ill!!! My arms felt as if they were burning it was horrific!!! I even phoned nhs 24, I can't believe how real it felt, almost like psychotic!!! I was utterly convinced I would die, my citalopram just got upped to 20mg a few days ago, how can my panic be so much worse!!!! All this in front of my daughter!!! My mum said if she'd phoned an ambulance I would of got sectioned last night!!!

If your dental infection had an abscess that horrible taste was real. It happens when the pocket of puss pops. I have bad teeth and have had that happen. So I can totally see why you puked. If you've never gone through it before you could get very scared.

I'm sorry you had such a horrid night. You might try rinsing with warm salt water a few times a day and Ice packs not heat for pain.

Hi l hope u feel better now, its not easy to get sectioned, sometimes one just needs someone to talk to, if u feel suicidal they is no harm phoning a Ambulance , U can also talk to the samaritans 24 hrs a day if u need a chart, anxiety can be frieghtening but just know u are not alone do u drink alcohol, because sometimes the day after a drink of alcohol can increase anxiety and heavy heart beat, u feel like u are having a heart attack.

The first couple of mths with citalopram can increase your anxiety.  So with your dose just being increased, it may increase your anxiety until it settles.  Give it a few weeks...

so sorry that you went thru that and I know what you mean about in front of your daughter! I absolutely cringe when I think of what my daughters seen with my behaviour sometimes.

Fingers crossed it start to help you soon, but dental issues can be traumatic enough on their own.

Keep going, you will get there xxx

    Hi Clarra,

That’s not good, my experience is that if I let myself go and get worked up about anything I won’t sleep, start with heart pounding, racing thoughts and I will start to decline from there badly frustration normally starts this and I get into a real spin the fact you had a dental infection may have been the catalyst and once you felt sick because of the two the other things start to kick off panic etc etc. when you are actually ok nothing will happen it’s your brain believing you are sick and panicked so increasing the anxiety almost the nervous system ramping up to crazy level. The worse thing I think about anxiety is the over-thinking every little thing and in some cases over thinking and starting an uncontrollable downward slide of emotion. Remember the mind can be our worse enemy in this times don’t always trust it! hang in there you’l be ok buddy x.
