Would a blood test be able to identify ulcerative colitis?

Would a blood test looking for inflammation in the body be able to indicate ulcerative colitis?

    It was my experience that blood tests may provide indicators however a colonoscopy would be required to determine exactly! Nothing to be apprehensive of! Good luck!

      I had a blood test which didn’t show any inflammation but I have this distressing symptom (tenesmus) that seems to be linked to IBD

    A blood test may show high inflammation in the body, which could be an indication of UC but you can’t disgnose UC with a blood test.  A colonoscopy is usually required to diagnose.

      Well there is no inflammation in my body according to the blood test.
