Would Clonazepam help with/be a decent substitute for zolpidem

I already done a couple of posts about this. It is worrying me - I have to do a quick taper from 10/15mg Zolpidem to 5mg (an then none one night) due to a prescription issue. Would clonazepam be a good thing to help with the withdrawals / be a good substitute? If so how do do it?

I think I must be very lucky as iwas taking 7 (7.5) mg zoplicone at night and now am down to half a pill.  Been on them for many years.  So far have had no withdrawals and getting about 4 hours sleep at night.  Not all at once but sleep then wake then sleep but not tired next day.  Good luck
