Wound on toe not healing (not ingrown nail)

Hi everyone.

A few weeks ago, I stupidly pulled off some loose skin from the corner of my nail on my big toe. It started bleeding a lot and the next day I woke up with throbbing pain. The pain went away after about a 4 days, but the wound that's left isn't going away. It's now turned into a large piece of exposed, red skin/tissue that's just hanging there. I guess it's not an ingrown nail issue because it started due to me pulling off the skin there.

I have been using antiseptic cream and bandages for 2 weeks now. There is not puss discharge, but sometimes it does still bleed (rarely now).

I have uploaded a photo below. Not sure what to do about it and how to make it go away. Does it need to be surgically removed, and how would you describe this?

thanks

You need a professional opinion on this. It doesnt look right and I am guessing there may be some sort of infection going on looking at the puffiness around the nail. Not all infections produce pus. You can try soaking your foot in warm salted water for 15 mins twice per day but a visit to your doctor is recommended.
