Hi, have you spoken to your consultant's secretary? I find they are generally the font of all knowledge. Hope you get a date soon, the covid testing isn't pleasant and the shielding is a pain but it's worth it, biggest problem is being told you cannot go out for 2 weeks after and wanting to go out and walk to exercise, fortunately I live in a fairly quiet area with 2 parks within striking distance so ignored the advice a bit 😉 and having a burly husband keeps the muppets at bay
Good luck

yes, I was told looking to start operations again in July, but think just frustrated now waiting to hear.
I'm not keen on the testing but I know it's right thing to do and like you I like in a rural area with plenty of out space with not alot of people present.
fingers crossed hear soon

yes I am still waiting. I saw the surgeon just before lockdown and then nothing happened for three months. I am on a list for a hip op., but goodness knows when, one person I know was scheduled for her op just before lockdown and was phoned up the night before and told it was off. So nothing for three months. I hate to think how long it will be to sort out the mess. Meanwhile the pain gets worse and worse.

Hi Vickie, just a thought, with your hospital being in Wigan, was it restricting patient admissions due to the local area lockdown? Maybe a consideration to think

maybe. but they did say starting again in July, but heard only started back in Aug and only doing few a day. I know I just have to wait and see what happens..

I think they are limited on ops as they have to deep clean the operating theatres every time, so surgeons sit around twiddling their thumbs it seems. I hate to think how long one would have to wait if you started the process now.

No I hadn't been given a date, the pre op was a day before the lockdown. I have spoken to the Admissions dept. at Wrightington they were very helpful, no date yet but they have started the elective list.
