Wrist and fingure injuries

Hi everyone, I am very thankful for everyone who responds to this. It is very serious to me. I actually have to stories to tell. My first story starts a while back so I will start from the beginning, about two years ago. So I was at this park with my skateboard and I was talking with these other skateboarders and I asked if I can try this other guy's board. He let me and I gave it a go and fractured my wrist almost immediately. I went to the hospital hours and hours later, not realizing it was fractured. I didn''t even ice my wrist. Anyways we went to the hospital and I wore a cast for four month. And that's it! Healed! But no, ever since I got this injury my wrist (right) tends to lock up and I end up cracking it (like cracking knuckles) and it is extreemly painful after that and I can't place pressure on it for hours. I should also mention that after the injury I got the bad habit of cracking my knuckles reglarly and turning my wrist around never giving it rest. So that's it. My question is should I go get this checked or is it not worth it because it just needs to rest for a while? Anyways, that is just my first problem. Second and more recent is my index fingure injury while playing basketball which was two weeks ago. I iced it very well this time and it didn't swell up too much but I couldn't move it. The bones were not broken after I took the xray and i went home with nothing more than a bandage and the information that I should be good as new in 2 to 4 days and that I shouldn't move my fingure to much. What do I do? I continuously try and see how much I can move the fingure everyday. Now I am able to move it perfectly fine but the problem is that any pressure on it makes it hurt like hell. I tried playing basketball and the minute I threw the ball and caught it my fingure screamed in pain. I can't live like this. Should I get the fingure checked? Does it just need time. If so how much? Please give me some info on these two injuries and don't hesitate to ask for more info. Thank you VERY much smile

    DEAR YUSUF

SO SORRY YOU'RE BEING CHALLENGED LIKE THIS.   IT'S POSSIBLE YOU MAY HAVE TO LEARN PATIENCE DURING THIS RECOVERY PERIOD.  BONES, LIGAMENTS, TENDONS AND NERVES DO TAKE TIME TO RERTURN TO NORMAL.   THEY WILL HEAL IN THEIR TIME NOT OURS.  THERE ARE EXERCISES YOU CAN DO TO HELP THE PROCESS AND THEY CAN BE FOUND ON THE INTERNET.

RIGHT NOW A LITTLE VISIT TO THE DOC WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA.

ASK THE DOC WHILE YOU'RE THERE TO HAVE YOUR VITAMIN D LEVELS TESTED.  YOU MAY BE LOW.

I AM HEALING FROM A WRIST/ARM FRACTURE AND I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL SO I'M ROOTING FOR YOU

Sorry for your problems.  I would have it checked out by a medical pro rather than others with the same type of injury.  I fell and hurt my ring finger.  It took me a year of hand exercises and anti inflamitory gel to get the finger to close completely.  Good luck!

Hello Yusuf123, my daughter did actually break her wrist and she was told that wrist INJURIES are VERY painful... BUT YOU MUST, MUST, MUST get professional help as you could benefit enormously from physio. It is a long painful road but worth it. I wish you all the best but make the effort to get this sorted Yusuf123. regards Katie 7
