Wrist and hand pain

i hurt my hand 2 months ago playing golf. i hit a clump of grass and immediately felt pain in my hand. i didnt think it was that bad so didnt go to the doctor. over the weeks i noticed i can grip with no problem but using a knife, scraping the car winscreen or anything like that is sore and it hasnt healed in 2 months so i got an xray yesterday and im waiting for results. worryingly i have now developed an on off sharp pain in my wrist at the bass of the thumb. any idea what this could be?
