Wtf is this?

Hi! ive been having problems with irritation of my vagina and vulva for a few months now. It gets worse with sex, thongs, skinny jeans, bike riding, etc.. it doesnt quite hurt or itch, more like a minor cross between the two, like a slight burning sensation. It isnt constant, it comes and goes and depends greatly on what im doing/wearing.. I can only describe it as an uncomfortable feeling... Also when I get sweaty and am unable to wash for a few hours I get this white clumpy stuff all around my vulva (as pictured). This is a problem because my job is very physically demanding and by the end of the work day I always feel so gross and uncomfortable down there... I ASSUMED yeast infection and treated myself at home twice which didnt work. I finally went to my gyno and was diagnosed with BV. I am on day 4 of my 7 day antibiotics of metrocondizole. I am not experiencing much relief yet and am feeling very discouraged. I am afraid that the BV isnt what is causing my problems. None of my friends that I have talked to have experience with this. I know my doctor will just tell me to wait and finish the antibiotic before she will see me again but I would love thoughts and advise right now if anyone has any?. 😕

Hey Sam! Are you experiencing any odor at all? A fishy type smell is normally a big indicator of BV. If you cultured positive for BV thats probably what you do have and hopefully after finishing the antibiotics things go back to normal, but its also easy to get BV again and be stuck in a constant battle between yeast infection and BV. I would see if you can start taking a daily probiotic and monitor to make sure the antibiotic does not give you a yeast infection cause thats a common side effect. There are tons of at homes things you can do to reset everything down there. I've used rephresh before and like their products. Also tons of natural stuff if thats more your jam just do a quick google search for natural ways to cure BV. I know it sucks but try to stick out the antibiotics

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I have not noticed too much of an odor but I am washing at least twice a day so maybe thats why. My culture was positive for BV, I will wait it out 😕 but for sure going to request another swab after. I was thinking maybe my antibiotic isnt working and I need another type maybe? Trying things at home is a good idea. Maybe I will try a diet cleanse and changing toilet paper too.

Try drinking cultured buttermilk. The low fat version tastes better than the whole fat kind. Those probiotics go right into your system since they are liquid.
