Posted recently about going to the gyno for a vaginal tear, which they confirmed.
The day i went, i developed a few razor bump from shaving. Was told it was the beginning of folliculitis. I messed with them and put tea tree oil, ingrown hair ointment, and a witch hazel glycolic acid down there. After a day or two the few bumps turned into blisters. Went back, was told it was unlikely to be herpes and more of a chemical reaction, but it looks GROSS.
Same partner of 1.5 years. Negative IgG and IgM before we started dating. My current IgG just came back negative as well.
Awaiting swab.

Unfortunately my HSV-1 is positive in the genital region. While rare, it came from my partner giving me oral sex. =( @ann26345

im so sorry to hear that 😦 im in the same situation, was diagnosed for hsv1 just a week ago and im with the same partner for 1.5 years 😦( good thing is that hsv1 has much less recurrences than hsv2 so we might not get the outbreak again (i really really hope thats the case)... are the sores gone? for me taking 50mg zinc daily really speeded up healing process...

So mine appeared LAST Wednesday and the doc is just now calling in meds because it did not start with the typical look. I am in misery. It sucks knowing you can be so careful, never even have a cold sore, no one night stands in life, and something like this can happen in a committed relationship. My bf does get cold sores, so it def came from oral recently since both blood tests still say negative and swab was positive. I hear HSV1 genitally is pretty rare, so of course it would happen to me. I am so sorry you are going through the same thing. You just never know what people are going through, and this shows we are not alone. As soon as the pharmacy fills my script, im hauling ass to get it. He is giving me a 10 day script, and said no daily meds after that since its type 1. I want to have some on hand for the future though. Did they give you the same, or are they putting you on daily meds?

i know i was super careful too, yet still this happened... i never had cold sores either and my igg for both hsv1 and hsv2 was below 0.5 which means that the infection is very recent.. it's such a tricky virus, honestly before i never thought about connection between cold sores and this...
so in terms of meds they gave me acyclovir for 5 days only but i bought more just in case (not sure where you are from but in the UK many pharmacies offer it - you just have to pay for it). so now i do have some extra at home, just in case i will see any symptoms im going to start taking it immediately. i am just so worried, my first outbreak was horrible and i dont want to go through this again...

Oh hunny I know. I am in misery because just now was I able to get the first pill in me. Mine is still solely on the outer labia, but it just burned when i peed, so im afraid to look inside. They gave me the generic for Valtrex, and I am in the US, so it is by script only. My partner is very supportive and told me he will live knowing he gave this to me forever. (yes, true, and i will have it forever lol) It is a s**t situation, but at the very least he is supportive. What about you?
