guys I've been on xanax for the last few months. my gp said that could stay on them untill I get my appointment with the psychiatrist and that they would sort my medication out. I'm also taking 40mg of prozac. my problem is I'm so worried that I'm.getting addicted to the xanax and im scared it's gonna damage my health. I take two 0.25mcg daily. and I'm terrified It will cause damage to my health. is there anybody on here who has taken xanax for a long amount if time and was ok?. I don't want to stay on them obviously it's just I really do genuinely need them at this moment in my life. I'm terrified of health problems from it. Im out of it today. my prescription is being sent tomorrow to pharmacy. I had one left for today. but my worry is will this cause withdrawals because I've only had one today.. . I've read on Google that it can cause seizures and other scary stuff. pls reassure and advise if u can. thank u

you are on the very low dose.

seizures if they ever happen, would be more common in people who take high doses and then suddenly stop. Talk to your doctor about how to wean off when the time comes.

that low-dose is not like leak to cause you any health problems.

I have been taking xanax off and on for 14 yrs. My prescription is .5mg 3 times a day but I only take half and not 3 times a day and it helps me a lot. There are some days I have to take them more than once a day and then I can go weeks to even a month or 2 either taking half once a day or going a lot of days not taking them at all. No side effects and def not addicted.
