Xanax withdraw HELP PLEASE

Posted , 9 users are following.

Hi everyone. I am 26 years old and I could really use some help.

I was taking Xanax 0.25mg daily for 2 months. I have bad case of anxiety.

After i noticed it makes me feel bad i estimated (maybe wrong), that i should stop taking it cold turkey. And i did so 1 week ago. (I had no idea what are possible side effects of doing so nor did anyone tell me you can get addicted by these pills).

I had symptoms like leg cramps, complete insomnia for 3 days, little derealization and vertigo (more like i cant be stable while walking and will fall, but i never do).

All the symptoms passed except vertigo. And anxiety came back to bite me on the ass😢Even worse than before but i am handling.

What i cant handle is vertigo. It is driving me crazy. I am locked up in the appartment scared to go out. I even took vacation at work so i can heal during this time.

Anyway, i went to see a doctor and she told me to take some antidepressant for sleep - i didnt, i took smtg herbal (valerian) and it helped.

Can anyone tell me how long will this vertigo last? What can i do to make it less?

I am very scared😢

i didn't realize taking such a small amount would do such bad things and cause withdrawal.. I've been using it about a month or two.   Will i have a problem now since i'm taking it to help me sleep?  i've been on it here and there for the last couple months a couple hours before my ambien. The ambien wasn't working so i thought taking the xanax before bed would help.  Now when the ambien stops working after a couple hours i was taking half a xanax or more sometimes to help me sleep.  Now i'm so scared.because it doesn't help me sleep anymore but it's in my head that it will.  I'm so sleep deprived i wanted to try anything. Now i made things worse.  Can anyone help me or let me know if i'll be addicted now?

Benzos are not dangerous or bad to use, if you use them as per a doctors recommendation. You also have to follow your doctors revommendation on how and when to come off them. Its when you take and stop taking them of your own accord they can cause serious side effects. Speak to your doctor regularly when you are taking them, so that they know whether to make any changes. Ive been taking them for 4 months now, while stsrting my new anti depressant. As the anti depressant started working, ive been able to reduce my benzo dose gradually, with no issues.

Just dont take it every day.

It is not as dangerous to take in smaller doses. I made w mistake by taking t every day, got my body used to it and now i have trouble.

      Every person is different.

I am very sensitive to any type of medications - thats why i didnt need more than 0.25, and i never developed tolerance on the medication.

You will be fine, just if you are getting off it, go slow.
