Xenical Newbie 😊

Hi!!

My name is Grace, I'm 30 and single mother to a beautiful 18 month old boy. Having struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember, my doctor has just prescribed me with Xenical.

I started taking the tablets today and obviously no side effects to report 😂 I'm just looking for a bit of advice/info from people who have taken it before or other people who are starting to take it and we can discuss how we're getting on!!

I'm 5ft9 and 15st12lbs. BMI 32.

Feel free to reply with tips/questions, anything Xenical related!! I'd really appreciate it 😊

Grace Xx

Also Cath I hope you don't mind me asking, you said the other day you got something similar to a Fitbit? What is it? I'd love one myself but actual fitbits are so expensive!!

Oh you're welcome Grace. I can't remember the brand I bought but I got it through wowcher for £6.99 & postage was £2.99 so in comparison to a proper fitbit it was a bargain! They're always selling a few different ones so it's worth checking out xx

Hi Keli welcome to the gang lol. I too lost 6lbs in my first 6 days so you're off to a great start! I've pushed it to see what happens & I'll tell you now it's not pretty & soooo not worth it but saying that its sometimes something you need to experience yourself to understand! Xx

Hi Keli!! 6lbs in 8 days, you're doing so well!! Basically cheating would be eating a load of very bold, very fatty foods. It's basically testing the tablets, seeing how much they will clear out if you know what I mean. Yes it might work for a week but certainly not sustainable in the long run, I think it would do more damage than good.

Oh my god Cath, brilliant thank you!! I'll definitely check that out because I'd love one especially at that price 😂

I haven't seen anything in terms of side effects start to wonder if it works but I only want to weigh myself ones a week so on Tuesday I'll check my weight.

Good morning all!! So I just weighed in. I'm down 1lb. I'll be honest and say I'm really disappointed but I was expecting it after going off the rails food wise on Friday and Saturday. I'm going to give it my all this week and plan out my meals. Best of luck to everybody else weighing in today!!

You can do it hun. I hope Leah on here wont mind me saying that she gained 1lb her 1st week but it motivated her to stay on track & last week she lost 7lbs! That WILL be you next week :-) xx

Thanks for the support Cath!! I really hope the same happens for me. I just need to stay positive, otherwise the comfort eating will take over again. I ate well and did a good workout today so i feel like I'm getting back on track 😊

Take each day as a chance to do your best...looking at the whole week/month is rather daunting & could put you off but if you look at each day as its own entity & your ability to do as close to 100% to plan you're more likely to succeed.

I drank far more water this week, did a bit more exercise than usual & the biggie has been NO BREAD which I have found really hard as I love bread but it just doesn't love me & the proof is that I lost 9lbs this week which is more than in my first week!!!! So, that's 1st 6lbs & 5%of my start weight & I hope my Dr is happy tomorrow lol xx

Oh my god Cath, AMAZING!! I'm so, so happy for you, what an achievement. I hope you're really proud because you should be!! There's no way your doctor won't be happy.

I've done my workout today and I'm onto the 2nd litre of water, this week will be successful!!! Have you ever thought about becoming a consultant for slimming world or anything? I only say this because I find your words so encouraging and supportive!!

Do you have much to loose cath? I agree with grace you are very helpful and supportive thankyou

Aww ladies thank you both so much for your support & kind words.

I have 19st to lose! But, I am not thinking of it in the grand total sense but in mini goals like each half stone & 5%...I worked out that to reach my goal I will have lost 18st 8lbs which is exactly 65% of my starting weight. I've written down in a book each mini goal & it actually motivates me especially when I can write down the date achieved like today reaching the 5% & next week should be the 1st 7lbs goal.

I confess you aren't the first Grace to suggest becoming a consultant &its something I'd like to consider when nearer my goal weight perhaps. When I devoted my entire life to WW & lost 7st I was a member of the leader's team & used to weigh people so I think that's where all advice etc stems from. I'm much better at inspiring others than myself though lol!!! If it helps others though then that's really all that matters as I get so much joy knowing that I've helped in some way xx

      Well done cath5680.

I've been really good this week with the healthy eating and water until Saturday when my best friend had a party and I had a lot of alcohol and birthday cake 😢

Also a couple of times I've forgotten to take the tablet at lunchtime.

Today is meant to be my weighing day but I've decided to go to a slimming world meeting and join so I'll weigh myself there the meetings st 7.30pm.

I don't think I've lost this week which is disappointing as it's my first week but it's my fault, I haven't done much exercise either.
