The spelling I BLIEVE is Xarelto If it is the same drug which I took for 18 months for AFIN (heart flutter) and Unfortunately cause for ME an internal bleed or Himotoma (SP? ) because it was too strong for what I believe wa smy weight and height 5' 2" 115 lbs....so I asked my doctor to give me a milder form of anticoagulant named ELIQUIS . I have been taking ELIQUIS 2.5 mg and thank God no adverse reactions...
I would NOT RECOMMEND that you arbetrarally STOP the Xarelto without a Specialists opinion as iif so YOU WOULD BE PRONE TO A STROKE..Please ask a specialist perhaps a Flabotemist ... Good Luck

I am on Pradaxa for life due to blood clot history. Thank God it has a Antidote called Praxbind. I also need surgery to remove my ovaries due to growing cyst. I know days before you have to stop taking it. I don't know if your medication has a antidote. I am scared being you hear stopping can cause a stroke. Don't ever stop without talking to your doctor. But I feel you. I

long story short.. the surgeon and Cardiologist should be aware of your RISK
They often use a drug which is nick named "a Bridge " to prevent strok during op days and before and after .There are several on the market and THEY should advise what is best for you depending on your weight, and heart function... Good Luck

I know how you feel I need 3 surgeries . 2 molar teeth Teeth extractions, Colon problem, and mastectomy Implant hardened causing HARD deformed implant in my breast. ..I am also afraid , or WAS when on Xarelto..But my other dr feels that because the milder EIQUIS stays in the system only 12 hours so maybe I can stop the Eliquis 12 hours before the OP, then the OP and stay ff another 12 hours...So I will ask the surgeon if he thinks it OK..He Vetoed ANY ops for me at my age 78 with AFIB...so he and the Cardiologist will not risk an op...IF our antidote is ready soon THEN I MAy have it..although risky due to my age and heart "health Good Luck
WEE NEED MORE INFO AND RESULTS FROM SURGEONS WHO HAVE OPERATED ION THOSE OF US USING THE NEWR NO ANTIDOTE DRUGS...
