Xolair works wonders for CHRONIC HIVES! I saw results immediately

Please try Xolair shots, I had horribly hives for months and months that wouldn't go away with diet or anything. It is a fairly new medicine, but I saw results right away. I have gotten the shot 4 times now, (4 months) and I haven't had a hive in weeks!

Hey Jill! That’s great your doing better. I started Xolair around a month ago. Suffering from chronic spontaneous  hives. I’ve had hives for 3 years straight everyday. But thanks to Xolair I haven’t had hives or swelling in two weeks this medication is the best. Nothing would help me When I was resist to antihistamines. But thanks to Xolair I can reclaim my life.

nothing to be scared of and after 20 years i would try them.. I had them for a year and half on and off then they got so bad i started the xolair.. I have taken ten shots and have only had a few hives come back.. But i have really bad joint pain so am thinking of stopping or spacing them out to see what happens .. Not sure what i am going to do and not even sure it is the xolair causing this .. everyone is different on the xolair so it is certainly worth a try for you..The shots dont hurt..

I had chronic hives in 1994 for two years back then they treated with high doses of steroids  and epinephrine shots.  After two years they went away just as mysteriously as they came.  Then in November of 2017 they returned with a vengeance.   The steroids were not working this time and now that I am diabetic I have to watch that anyway  as it shoots my blood sugars up awfully high.  After trying everything possible I was put on Zolair shots.  I just took my 7th shot and even though I am better they are not completely gone.  I have good days and bad ones.  My doctor is giving it a little longer then he is talking about twice a month.  Is anyone here taking the shots twice a month.  In response to venita76364 I would not be afraid I am 62 and have not had any bad results.  The shots are not bad as bad as receiving a shot goes. So I would go for it.

I had my 10th shot and i still get a few hives here and there so they are not completely gone like some ppl.. it seems they start in a cluster then go away or i get one or two but they are crazy itchy .  Before when i had them all over they were not this itchy.. I am trying to see if i can go longer without taking the shot i sure dont want to take twice a month.. Are your joints affected at all with pain. After i have been sitting trying to get up and walk at first is tough the bottoms of my feet hurt so bad.. and my joints in my hands swell and i hve two trigger fingers now.. some days are worse than others..

Your tongue is swelling .. Why is that did they say it is the hives??? I am so sorry that must be awful..

Adenoedema from hives, lips and eyelids too, if I feel my tongue tingling I ake 20mg prednisone and pepcid, that's what they do in ER.

Everyone seems happy with shot, but as a nurse I worry about the stated cancer risk. I'm still praying about it, tks for all the input.

Yes so do i and all the other risks.. but someplaces say if only one person got it they have to list it.. plus there are conflicting reports about the cancer some say they dont know if it really was from the xolair .. and look at the horrific side effects of most of our other meds..

I had hives off and on for over 20 years.  However 2 years ago i had a very bad episode, then off/on hives since.  Then this past spring had the absolute worse episode ever. During all this time I have followed doctor protocols taking Allegra, rantindand &  Hydroxyzine as needed.  My allergist suggested Xolair and 10 days ago I had my first Xolair injections.  Happy to report I’ve had zero hives since the 1st set of injections.  Prior to this I would have hives on my feet & knees almost daily.
