I am wondering when anyone has had an XRAY post surgery. The last one I had was in the recovery room after surgery. I am due for a 6mo. check up. Still having a lot of pain in the hip area by the end of the day. I go to bed on ice every night.

I was x-rayed on second day before I came home and expecting another at my six week appointment with the consultant or one of his team. That appointment came a couple of days after I got home.

Hi Ellen
Not sure if you are UK or US based.
I'm UK based and like you I had an X-ray the morning after surgery. Doctor on ward rounds muttered something about everything looking fine and that was it.
I was due to go to a physio session 4 weeks later but that was scheduled for 23rd December and I did not fancy battling my way through pre-Christmas traffic so that appointment was postponed. I eventually had a follow up appointment with the main physio guy at around 8 weeks post op. I was sent for an X-ray after seeing the physio guy who said that he would review it at the end of the day and contact me if there were any issues.
I heard nothing so am assuming all is well.
I'm now about 16 weeks post surgery and almost back to normal. No walking aids, bending and stretching fully and now able to put on socks with no problem. I have also started cycling again now that the weather has relented.
I was a bit surprised that the X-ray was reviewed by the physio rather than the surgeon but I suppose if there had been an issue, the surgeon would hopefully have been involved.
I'm guessing that they try to minimise the number of X-rays taken and would only do more if the patient was have any difficulties

Yes I had an xray about 6 weeks after and it was all shiny and much more vivid than my other hip I do not have any hip pain at all and haven't since my surgery.
