Cluster Headache, My GP has little knowledge. So when I tell someone, health professionals, assessors, People, friends and even family Im having a cluster headache, even people who have to suffer migraine. Nobody can imagine the difference between a headache and pure torture. I tell those people interested to Google the worst pain a human can endure. And then to imagine that for over 3 hours a time.
Cluster Headache, even the word headache is so disproportionate. They need renaming. Along the lines of "they are just suffering the 2nd most pain available for 3hrs. Headache how underestimated is that.

Yes I totally agree with you the word headache just doesn't even come close.
I suffer from cch and chronic sunct, they are major head conditions not just headaches.
Really hope that you are getting some relief and are seeing a headache specialist neuro.

While I don't have cluster headaches, I know how dismissive people can be about pain.
I have a hell of a lot of neuro pain, a symptom of MS (diagnosed 20004). I've had head pain, too, as an after effect of brain surgery (2012). When I spoke to my surgeon, I told him that it feels as though my brain is being crushed. This effect typically lasts for several hours at a time.
I find that when I drop the word headache, and describe the sensation as head PAIN, that people tend to have a tiny bit more understanding. It never ceases to amaze me that people seem to get bored with another persons suffering. I'm sorry that you have to deal with your cluster headaches... and all the misunderstanding, too.
