Yeast infection?

Hi, I treated myself for a yeast infection last Wednesday with canesten pessary and external cream (I had a yeast infection a few years ago so recognised the signs). Usual symptoms, itchy and sore plus clumpy white discharge (sorry for graphic detail!) The itching and discharge has virtually stopped but my vaginal opening feels really sore? The pessary did not get on with me well and it burnt and made me very uncomfortable. Is it possible the infection has not cleared hence why I'm still sore? Could it be something else or is it possible I'm still sore because the pessary irritated me so much? Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. No sores or bumps. Can't be an STD as only been with one person and same for him. Think I will make a doctors appt. tomorrow.
