Yeast infection And Bacterial Infection !

WELP! it seems like i never going to be at peace with my vagina.

I went to my GYN because i thought i had a yeast infection, i figured it was because i ate a bunch of chocolate for like 2 weeks smh.I felt burning sensation inside  and some itching and white discharge so i was sure it was a yeast infection. She came to find out i have both yeast and Bacterial infection, the confusing part is, i went in december of 2015 because i had burning discharge (but not inside) only when it came in contact with my skin, also no fishy smell i didnt know what it was. She said it was BV so she gave me flaggyl for 7 days and yes she did a swab and sent it to the lab. I dont even know if it went away because i cant even tell the difference anymore since i have chronic itching down there, but i still did have alot of discharge and the discharge burned, the discharge was stil kind of weird looking but it didnt smell bad so its harder for me to even know if i still had it or not, i emailed her about it back then and she said to just put vaseline and that maybe my discharge was just irritating my vulva so i left it alone, so now im here trying to figure out if the BV ever went away, if i got it again or if sex is triggered it again ugh im so stressed out and confused idk what to do anymore Can probiotics really help with these type of issues, anyone please im seeking for any type of advice right now thank you

I'm experiencing the same thing as you. I've had bv and yeast since January. I start feeling a bit better, but then a day or two later I start feeling burning all over again. I've tried flagyl and clindamycn. Diflucan is just a waste of time for me now because I'm resistant to it now. I've bought the most expensive probiotics, changed my diet, haven't had sex, take vitamins, drink a gallon of water.... Still nothing. Most of the time my symptoms are just masked by all the things I've tried, but it isn't touching the bv. A lot of people say diet helps a lot, however when I had this last summer I didn't change the way I ate and I was healed for 6 months. People will recommend things to you, but everyone's body is different and what may work for one person may not work for the next. It just really sucks cause I'm at the point now where I feel like I'm going to have this forever. Thankfully my hubby is patient with the whole ordeal, but I hate that I can't be intimate with him. I just pray one day it'll magically leave lol. I tried using yogurt and that gave me yeast too! I'm at my wits end honestly.

I am going through the same, basically bv then yeast yhen bv again. Actigel was able to prolong the break by about two weeks then im back. I wonder if its because all the good lactobascillus bacteria in my vagina is already gone, its impossible to fight on their own? Help!

Like Leggiez said, everyone is different.  You just have to try different things to find out what works for you and what doesn't.  I've read inserting a vitamin C works wonders.  I've also read that taking Curcumin is a miracle cure-all that can help with this also.  I personally take 1 Rephresh Pro-B every night, and started eating 1 pickle every day.  It turns out that pickles that are NOT made with vinegar undergo a process called 'lacto-fermentation' which gives them probiotic qualities.  This is good for me 'cause I'm somewhat lactose-intolerant.  I'm currently on anti-biotics, taking the pro-b and pickles at the same time.  I think I am slowly feeling better.  I'm really hoping that after the anti-biotics are done if I keep up what I'm doing I'll be good for good!

A local grocery store sells them (not the big-chain grocery store).  Farmer's market type places will probably have them, too.

I understand you, I've had every one of your symptoms. It all started in July 2015. And it's now March 2016, and I have no hope. I've always had yeast infections, but this year I experienced BV for the first time. It all started with a rise in temperature in my vagina, then an itch, and after the itch a watery clear discharge would come out. The discharge does not smell but it burns and irritates my vaginal opening. My first round of antibiotics was in september, the symptoms lessen but didn't go away. I was tested again in October and it was BV again, and another round of antibiotics. I learned that antibiotics cause yeast, so I had to use creams after. In February I was tested again and it's BV again. And they gave me a 30 day treatment one week of antibiotics, which felt great while on them, then 21 days inserting boric acid, felt some relief but not completely. Now I have to use the metronidazole gel twice a week. But if I've gone this far, and just yesterday I had the symtoms at their worst, I have no hopes. I've tried eating healthy vitamin, probiotics and nothing.

I am going through the exact same thing too! I feel like its the end of the world everyday. I go to the extent of wearing onlly disposable cotton underwear and skirts ONLY, no relief whatsoever. None of the doctors seem to be concerned at all. Im in the gyn office like every week now, I worry if the symptoms are not treated they can get worse. Probiotics dont seem to work for me, tried cutting carbs and sugar out of my diet, didnt help, it made my mood even worse though. I haven't tried boric acid, is that going to help?

What about good sleep and exercise 6 days a week? Im going out of my mind!

How is the stress level in your life?  Increased psychosocial stress is associated with greater bacterial vaginosis prevalence, independent of other risk factors.  Probiotics, diet, exercise, and stress management should all be things to consider.

I thought about trying the boric acid suppositories but I'm scared that I might have a horrible reaction to it. I'm so skeptical of sticking anything up there because whenever I try something new it makes my symptoms worse. I exercise as much as possible to maintain my stress levels, drink a gallon of water, plus tea daily. I take al my vitamins and try eating healthy for the most part. Some days I wonder if it's all worth it because I'm not sure if it's actually improving. I'm a vegetarian and I try staying away from processed foods, but once and awhile I may want a little something. Last summer I had bv and I cleared up without any drastic diet changes. I don't know. It's all a mystery to me.

Hi Leggiez, I tried my first boric acid suppository yesterday. Honestly right now I can't really give you the exact outcome yet, because somehow this time I don't feel that much irritation but I see the discharge and redness associated with yeast or bv, but I will continue using it for 3 nights to see if anything changes. Perhaps you can give it a try? I would say its much more natural than antibiotics and antifungals.

I hope it works for you. I went to see my dr. and she recommended that I see a gyno because she didn't want to keep prescribing me stuff. She did a swab and said she would follow up with me with the results. On the same day as my gyno appointment my dr. Emailed me and has great news!!! She said my results came back normal. I honestly didn't believe it until I saw the gyno and she said the same thing. She looked under the microscope and said there weren't many clue cells and everything looked normal. I almost cried. I've had bv since Jan and finally I am relieved. I'm hoping it stays away. I am using condoms with my hubby because I can't risk getting this again. I most say prayer worked. Don't ever give up hope. Keep eating healthy, drinking tons of water and herbal tea. For vitamins I take chloroohyll, prenatals, folic acid, garlic, probiotic , zinc and echinacea (I only the echinacea and zinc when I have bv). I also started drinking sugar free kefir every so often. I pray you will be healed soon.
