severe and prolonged yeast infection can make the skin fragile. when i had recurring and persistent thrush a few years ago my sore and raw skin began to split. it is important to cure it because you can become allergic to the yeast and that causes even more problems. have you tried a special diet?

You need to miss out all food containing sugar or yeast, including fruit, for 2 weeks. Also need to restrict the carbs. Basically you are just eating protein and veg. Sourdough and soda breads do not contain yeast. Then you can re-introduce naturally occurring sugars (fruit). Also take natural suppliments that have anti-fungal properties: garlic, cinnamon, cloves, thyme, rosemary, oregano oil, caprylic acid (coconut oil), grapefruit seed extract, pro and pre biotics. I did all that and still have a no added sugar and no yeast diet and still take some of the suppliments. My yeast infections got less and less frequent and no i havent had any for years. Almost forgot - I was also taking a 150mg fluconazole tablet every month or whenever i felt the slightest itch, but havent done that for a while.
Warning - you may experience side effects from that diet during the first weeks due to yeast die off and the toxins that produces in your body. Symptoms include:
loose bowel movements or diarrhea
nausea
headaches
flu like symptoms
muscle or body aches
fatigue
joint pain
brain fog
I remember feeling generally yucky and having a headache. Lot of people give up when they feel these symptoms, but they are actually good - they are a sign it is working. To help with these die off symptoms this you need to make sure to take plenty of anti oxidants and eat lots if green veg.
