Hi, KC,
I guess my first question sounds ridiculous, but, are you sure you're having yeast infections? The only reason I would ask that is that I had never had one, and then I was sure I was having them because of the itching. I tried OTC meds and they helped...for a few days. I think they helped because the med is put in a suppository made of veg oil...that was helping the LS. So, I went to the doc complaining of recurring yeast infections, only to find out there was no yeast infection at all, it was all LS.
So...on the other hand, if you ARE sure that it is yeast infections..., I'm not sure. I'm also on a group in a social media platform and many people there advocate the borax soaks to solve the problem, others swear by boric acid vaginal suppositories (apparently OTC). I've done the borax soaks and think they are helpful. Some people aren't advocates because they say the soak can spread bacteria (?). I have no idea about the suppositories, but a google search brought up respected medical orgs that suggest them..so maybe that???

i use too. i have now been keto for over a year so no sugar in my diet. i also gave up diet soda as i think that flared the infection up as well.
Olive oil did not seem to work too long for me. i mix coconut oil with lavendar and frackincsence and that sees to help the best for me along with the clob.

kc, I don't think LS has consistent symptoms, unfortunately. I was diagnosed a year ago and still can't figure out what exactly is happening to my body or why. I saw a gyn because my initial symptom was a fleeting internal itch and occasional odor. Her diagnosis was LS based on what she saw externally and her opinion was the itch just "felt internal". Anything I have read about LS claims it does not affect the vagina, just outer areas. However, I have not had any external itching and I'm sure the internal itch was caused by an infection. I took Flagyl which immediately resolved the itching. It eventually returned, very fleeting and milder.
I wanted to avoid another round of Flagyl so I started rinsing with a very mild baking soda rinse and that seems to have gotten any odor and itch under control although I have no idea why.
I only felt* raw externally* once and that was from one application of the steroid that was a little thicker than usual. I thought it felt like a yeast infection but external. Do you give yourself a break from the steroid? If not, I would try that for several days. I did and the raw feeling resolved.
In the meantime if you think you have an internal yeast infection best to get an appointment with your doctor to resolve what is causing your discomfort. Good luck. We are definitely in unchartered territory.

kc, do you mean it is both internal and external?
Have you tried not not using the steroid to give your skin some relief? When I did that my doc was away, but when she returned said she would have advised doing so.
You say you don't eat much. Do you mean of foods in general or foods you think exacerbate the condition?

Please go to your dr and have a swab done. I was positive I was having an LS flair back in Jan and then realized that it must be yeast because the pain was internal as well. I took a diflucan and was ok for a few days and then things started up again. This happened many times over a three month span. At this point I was thinking maybe I had resistant yeast or something so I decided to go get a swab because if it was in fact my LS I needed to know so I could treat it appropriately. I was at my absolute wits end thinking I would never feel normal again. I FINALLY went to the dr. he looked and said "I think your suspicions are correct. this looks like classic yeast" he perscribed me SIX MONTHS of diflucan!!!... I decided to wait for the results before starting, and good thing because I had 0 yeast. It turns out that the whole time it was BV. even though it didn't present as typical BV and seemed exactly like yeast, even to an ob. So all of this is to say, be sure that you are sure what you are dealing with. Now that I have had appropriate treatment things are 100% normal. I could have avoided a lot of panic and tears if I had just had it tested at the onset of symptoms but I was sure that it had to be LS or yeast. At one point I thought I would never feel normal down there again.
