Yellowing on both sides of eye

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have a problem with both my eye's having a yellow/orange looking tinge to them where the white's of both of the eyes are. My daughter asked me the other day "why are my eye's orange ?!" Which I was secretly upset about. I'm finding that I am becoming more and more self conscious about it and feel that I cannot look at people in the eye anymore when I'm talking to them as I consciously wonder if they are also thinking what my daughter thought. Is there anyone else suffering with this? and if so did you have any treatment for it, or maybe have any advice to give me? Thanks for reading this!

It is unusual for the whites of your eyes to appear yellow. I think you should make an appointment to see your doctor or optician to get a diagnosis and treatment if necessary. Your eyes are very precious and you need to look after them. Take care and keep in touch.

Hello Chelle, don't worry but I think you should go to see your GP.

Yellowing of the eye is called jaundice, there are several things that can cause it, which is why you should go to see your GP. S/he can arrange for a blood test.

    Good luck

Thank you all for your advice. I will go to see my GP and find out whats causing this and if I do have jaundice as you say. I have had this problem for a while but I think its getting worse now. I am having issues with my gallbladder and recently referred after a polyp was found, not sure if its connected to that. Thanks again everyone for replying much appreciated.
