Yes on Rezume

I live where Rezume was 'born' and had the procedure about 18 months ago 18 months after FDA approval.  I could not be happier as I am peeing like I was 18 again and only get up once at night.  I had tried a lame procedure called Targis  (with another clinic) about 4 years ago and only thing accomplished was retrograde.  The story broke in the newspaper 3 weeks ago that Boston Scientific was impressed enough that they purchased NxThera for $409,000,000.  My Dr. has done several hundred and his colleagues the same.  I feel very fortunate.

Interesting.  Boston Scientific is also the manufacturer of the Greenlight and Holmium laser devices.

I'm 9 mos post-Rezum, which I had hoped would resolve retrograde, but largely didn't. (thankfully, pee issues resolved). My urologist recently informed me that he and colleagues are discovering that retrograde occurs w/much higher frequency than the literature from co. had promised.

I got retrograde from a procedure called Targis which

may not be around anymore? Retrograde for a man is a big deal psychologically..  For her, NOT the case.. I understand it is not reversible.

Hi Gary: Great to know that Rezume procedure is working for you. Its been a year since I had the TURP procedure done to  me and I found out I have scare tissue issues, hence the burning and urge to pee 24/7. I think I'm going to look into having the Rezume done by another doctor. Do you by any chance live in Arizona? Thank you for your posting and good luck.

No I live in MN.  Consider the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. We thought Rezume may have partially failed when in fact we discovered a piece of large scar tissue on the 'valve' at the bottom of my bladder.  I had what my doc called a mini TURP and things have been great since.  I guess everyone reacts slightly different.

Hi Gary, Could you share the name of your doctor with us. Glad it worked out so well!

My Dr. recently retired but has done the Rezume procedure in the Dominican showing potential success killing cancer cells on the prostrate.  I am in MN and the best clinic in my opinion is Metro Urology (now MN Urology)

Gary, good story - congrats on your good fortune. But, you never told us if doing the rezum fixed your Retro?

Retro was not the cause of my Retro, a older procedure called TARGIS did.  You cannot recover from Retrograde.  All procedures do what they were intended for and they also seem to kill enough nerve endings that send your sperm to your bladder.  Such is life.  I have yet to hear Rezum causing or affecting ED.  That I am OK on.

Anyone know how to unsubscribe from this forum?   I am getting overwhelmed with good questions and wish you all well but not responding anymore.  May you all be well.  It took me 3-4 years of patience and determination and some very top urologists.
