Yet another UTI,

19 months on from triple prolapse repair, followed by repeated UTIs last year, then none from October till this March. This one started after sex. Had antibiotics,but now, if I am on my feet for too long, feel terrible dragging feeling and worry another infection is starting.

now afraid to have sex, dont want to walk too far, feeling like an old woman( which at 66 I suppose I am) Anyone out there having the same problems? Going to try Bicarbonate of Soda again which does seem to work, can you use it all the time? Any help will be very welcome.

    Hi there. Im 50 and due to have 2nd anterior/posterior repair on 2 weeks. I've previously also had hysterectomy. A few years ago UTIs were ruining my life. Always got one post sex. Now i take a 50mg macrodantin antibiotic after sex, take D mannose everyday (as recommended by urologist) and after sex drink at least 600mls to a litre of water to flush out my bladder. I haven't had a UTI for ages.

      Thanks Kym, I have heard D mannose mentioned before on this forum but haven't tried it yet. My doctor ( I live in France) hadn't heard of it. I am trying to drink as much water as possible every day. Will give the D mannose a go! Anything to stop these infections.

      I have just had my second anterior done. Mine failed few weeks after through no fault if my own. How did yours fail?

      I am 9 wks tvh and anterior so I'm reaslky scared not to do anything. I'm not bending or lifting even a kettle. I still have a rubbing feeling, just hope its healing. Hugsx

      Hi there. Think it re-occurred due 2 gravity and probably lifting ... it was about 25 years ago when i had my first repair.

    I have never suffered until my first repair 2 years ago.

    I've not had one since. Please read what I'm going to tell you carefully.

    The more antibiotics you take the more the bugs will get used to them and return.

    I took di mannose powder from sweet cures and its brilliant. Please research it online first. What the powder does is it attracts the ecoli to the sticky substance in the bladder and draws the bugs from bladder wall. I found it brilliant and no more bugs. You can take it every day for 3 days then nightly as preventative.

    Always wee before and after sex as penetrative sex pushed bacteria from anus to utethra when moving back and for. Hope this helps.

    Yes hun I've found d mannose fabulous. Its natural and draws ecoli from bladder wall. I've done extensive research on it.you can get it online at swertcures.

    Also we before and after sex.this is so important. Xx

    Well,got another uti after sex. I have been taking d-mannose once a day for the week before, now I have upped the dose to 3 a day. It's almost a miracle, by the end of the first day all pain and burning gone. Will continue the 3 per day for 5 days, then go back to 1 a day. So wonderful not to have to take an antibiotic! Thank you ladies,for your very helpful advice.

      Not so good today, upped the dose to 4 capsules as felt a bit unwell, cold and shivery and aware of my bladder , not as uncomfortable as before, but not right. Really hope the d-mannose works as really dont want more antibiotics. However will probably take an urine sample to the lab tomorrow, just to check.
