Yet another weird symptom with my idiopathic neuropathy

Posted , 3 users are following.

A couple of weeks ago I started getting a really strange feeling above my left knee.  The only way I can describe it is like really cold water trickling down and it only happens when I am standing up.  Also the feeling like there is a pebble wedged under my big toe is getting worse.

I thought all of the problems were with my right leg and foot, but now my left leg and foot are catching up.

Has anyone else experienced this bizarre thing? When it started I actually thought my leg was wet because the feeling is so realsad

Yes, I started having this in May this year. It felt like there was a cold drop of water dripping on the back of my legs. I’d touch my leg to wipe it off and there would be nothing there. I went to a neurologist and blood tests and MRI showed two conditions: a syrinx in my thoracic spine (you probably don’t have this as it is extremely rare, at 8 people in 100000) and toxic levels of B6 in my blood, most likely from multivitamin. I stopped taking multivitamins and the cold, wet feeling went away, but now I have horrific neuropathic pain in my legs. I think the B6 caused the wet feeling and the syrinx causes the neuro pain. Get your blood tested and if nothing turns up have a spinal MRI.

Thanks so much for your quick reply.

I am about to order some more strong fish oil capsules and also some Floradix, as I have read that this helps with cramps in the feet and legs at night.

I have had numerous blood tests over the past few years and a head and back MRI scan.  The back MRI scan showed that I have a disc bulge at L5, but the neurologist didn't suggest that this could be causing the neuropathy. He just says it is idiopathic, which is very frustrating.

Hi Lodge, the disc bulge does cause neuropathy! That is how I started with my issues. You might want to seek a neurologist to oversee your issues. They are well educated in the health issues you face which can become quite horrific. One of the test I had is called a nerve conduction test that will show if you have nerve involvement in your L5 disc. These types of conditions can progress to a debilitating health problem. Prevention is your friend. I hope you will consider seeing a neurologist and possibly get involved in a pain management group. Best of luck. 🍀??
