I have tried so many things to try and stop this and keep my chin up but to no avail! I am a 23 yr old male who is otherwise perfectly healthy! I tried lots of creams and been to doctors 5 times and have now been transfered to dermotolagest, not holding out much hope all the same, 5 bloody years, if we be honest were plucking at straws, if someone told me to force my fist up my ass to stop this itching i would! I gonna try the probiotic drinks an see how i get on, what people dont seem to mention is the initial itch feels so good to scratch but by god do you pay for it! Here is the best advice i can give, If you new to anal itching go straight to doctor before you get caught in cycle of itching and i dont care if you embarassed cause if you get to my stage suicide is a legitimate option  But on a lighter note, lots of people do find relief

ps anyone tried hypnotherpy (sorry for crappy spelling and moaning) :D

OMG! five years! that totally sucks! i am in your same situation, although i have only had this for a little over 2yrs. I am 21. I totally empathise with your pain...especially the whole suicide part. I can gurantee that if this does not go soon that I will eventually take that road. It sucks because it's not like I want to die but I can't keep doing this either. I have been told by my dermotoligist that i can only hope that this will go away. THAT IS A LOAD OF CRAP! this will never go away on its own. I am going to docs tomorrow to discuss this further and to make it clear that if this doesnt go away soon that one night I wont be able to handle it and will well yea you know. I have heard that capsicin cream has helped and will discuss that too.

Went too the dermatolagist! He took his 80 euro and gave me a sheet i could of printed off the internet my self and another f...ing cream! hydrocortistone cream is a steroid cream that i started too use, feeling alot better and sleeping at night, tried caspien cream as well, got doctor to write a prescription for me, a lady called ann futher down the page describes, very sore but is worth getting! I think using a steroid cream every once and a while when itching is bad is ok but ive found the less you do wi your ass the better, i was in a rut when i wrote that last post, the more down you are the more you itch so try too ignore, i know you want o hit me for saying that but i think you,ll find hydrocortistone and as little interfernce as possible for a week or two will see a improvement, let me know how you get on!

Hey, i had hydrocortosone, it didnt work, i had to use something called diprosone which is MUCH more powerful. However DO NOT use the diprosone or hydro.... for long periods of time, like a week at the most! and leave it for a month or two before re-applying as these cause the skin to thin and in turn will make it more sensitive and will make it all worse! Mine went really bad jst recently and it turned out i had thrush, so maybe some of the other people on here might also have some thrush. Also anti-depressants help alot as well, im on em, and as you said, being down makes this worse. I was told however by a colorectal surgeon that this would never go away. sorry to end on that note.

Well ive been using hydrocortisyl ( contains hydrocortisone ) on and off, when i get raw, i find it soothes the area, its the caspien cream that treats the itch, i think it affects the nerve endings down there and numbs them, it does burn though, so i go to shower afterwards and point the shower head towards my anus, still burns after but not as much, after ten min you,ll be grand! You gonna look into it! How you feeling now!
