Young woman and osteoporosis?

Hello there!
A month ago I've been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my spine, both hips and femur. I'm in my mid twenties and I'm still devastated by my diagnosis but not surprised. I'm anorexic and I don't have my period for a couple of years. I did a DEXA scan and it was confirmed... Doctor only recomended supplements and no medication because of my young age. But I know my hormones are out of whack and that is the main reason for my condition... not vitamin D or whatever...
Is this even reversible? Should I recover from AN first and then maybe hope that my osteoporosis is going to get better?

Likely you won't get many responses as this forum is dying a slow death. However, if you google HealthUnlocked My Osteoporosis Journey you will find my story which should give you some leads. You need to do something about your diet, obviously, and I suggest you get a referral to a specialist in your condition if you don't already. A dietitian should be able to help. But, that aside, there is a lot you can do to improve your bone health. Bone meds are serious drugs with very concerning side effects. You do not want to go there and your doctor is wise not to prescribe them to you. Best wishes.

Since the doctor has given you only supplements, continue with that. Prioritize the anorexia treatment. Although the reversal of osteoporosis is not that common, a young woman such as you will be able to stop the bone density from getting lower.
