Your Doctor or Your Health? There is 'NO' Positive Answer to this at all...

Okay, this must sound a stupid question, but in "reality" there is no logical answer!
Here is why...
With the Elections nearly upon us, who do you vote for, I have seen in many posts lately. The answer is not as easy as you think. Take the Subject of this message then try and answer it yourself, it's like banging your head against a brickwall.
Main Party 1 - The Conservatives
The Conservatives have promised that within five years, everyone will be 'able to see their GP between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week'.
Main Party 2 - Labour
Labour's pledge, recycled from past Labour governments, is for guaranteed GP appointments within 48 hours.
If we asked both parties the exact same question, and we wanted figures to back it up, it cannot be done!
Who is correct?
Actually neither, both parties are pledging to us things that cannot even be done in 5 years, the schdeule is already 5 years behind.
Let's look at the Latest British Medical Journal for the answers, maybe!
In the latest British Medical Journal we see what will be needed to make these promises a "reality" and paints a totally different picture.
First stumbling block is increasing the number of new GPs. It takes 10 years to train a GP, so any increase in GPs for 2020 is already five years behind schedule. We are in 2015, therefore neither party will have enough GP's by 2020, it is just impossible.
I rest my puzzled head and just see what happens like everyone else.
Note for Moderator: There is no negative or positive views in this message it is just a simple statement with details from the latest British Medical Journal.

I'm not sure about your health insurance. Do you pay for it yourself or through your work or disability? Like Canada, they don't pay for it and all is covered but they also have the same problems as you do.
I wish there were answers to help all of you with this situation.
All I can do is offer prayers that one of the people who is running for position, will LISTEN to your pleas for help.
Nice to see your post, Les. I've been down and out for a long time now but hopefully, I'm on the mend now.
Regards,

I made that post last week before my daughter started the May Day Bank Holiday, but for her she has had a real bad time. She finished school on Friday, like most schools did over here.
But by Saturday afternoon one of her friends drowned in a boating accident in Devon. It's all in our news and media now, but at first my daughter found out online via social media. The girl was the same age as my daughter just 14 years old, which doesn't bear thinking about.
Tomorrow, they start back to school - it will be a very distressing time for all who knew her, she had many friends and lived locally. My daughter has managed to keep it together so far, but she said tomorrow will be a very bad day at school. An adult and 3 girls were involved in the accident, the adult and the other 2 girls survived but were taken to hospital. My daughter's friend was unlucky, the 16ft boat flipped and she was underneath at the time.
That first post doesn't really paint the true picture of the UK at present, regardless if your sick or terminal with cancer they are saying go to work or starve! That's the truth that's going on - I am hoping like many others that this all changes on Thursday! Basically it will decide what will happen to the UK's future.
To be honest I feel bad about my daughter's friend that died, like my daughter said she only spoke to her on Friday, the day before! Her parents must devastated, she was their eldest daughter, she left behind a younger sister and brother.
Regards,
Les.

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughters friend, such a terrible thing to happen and at such a young age. Hopefully, the school will have counselors (and that's plural!) to help the kids deal with this awful, sad death. You are sensitive to this so that's good she'll have you to talk to about her. Don't be afraid to ask her periodically how she's doing. You'll find out by her reaction. If she sounds mad, she's not dealing with it well enough w/o some help.
The reason I'm saying this isn't because I think you're not able to think about what to do. I lived through this when my youngest graduated from HS. One of the girls on the golf team (with my daughter) was killed when a tree fell on her. Yes, that is shocking and even worse, her father was cutting it down and he saw her come in the backyard and yelled to her to STOP!! but it was too late.
So, it ended up a double tragedy bc he ended his life shortly after. That was his only child and he had just separated from his wife. I was lucky to have worked in the same school system my daughter was in and I had so much help given to me to help my daughter get through this. If you need to talk about this, feel free to send a PM and I'll respond to you.
Again, I'm sorry this happened and that your daughter is dealing with death at such a young age.
Warm regards,

It was a very freak accident, without the life jacket on she may have survived the terrible ordeal. I dread to think what her other 2 friends in the boat are going through. I know my daughter spoke to one of them last night.

Les.

the lady next door to me is in her 70s and her son was drowned whilst diving , the other diver got into distress and he went back down to get him he didnt have enough air in his tank and although was pulled out a live with the other diver he died from an air bubble in his lung i think .
if he had come up straight away he would still be alive . how do you decide to leave someone to die even if it means risking your own life ,
its a tough call . one i hope i am never called upone to use .
