i have been taking sertraline for depression and anxiety for 5 months, started off 50mg .. After the first 3 to 4 weeks i noticed my mood picking up a bit, good and bad days , my anxiety was the same, and at 5 week s i had strange tension feelings in my tummy, but reassured myself it was a side effect that would pass. i would say that by week 8 , i was feeling consistently much better, but still a little fragile. i subsequently had my dose increased after 12 weeks to 100 mg due to stressful life circumstances; then at week 17 i requested an increase to 150 mg due to my anxiety bubbling again due to continued stresses in my life. i still get some anxiety, but believe that is partly still to my body adjusting to higher dose. MOOD wise, i am much better again and more resilient emotionally. MY advice is, stick with this medication, you really have to be patient and give it time to work ! i had no major side effects, bit more sleepy and some increased tension / anxiety in tummy when first started and during dose increases. i found this forum very helpful especially when i first started and needed hope that it would work for me!
