Zoloft

I have been taking Zoloft for 4 mths,in the last few weeks I have experienced pain and other symptoms like gallstones.I have had an ultrasound which is negative to gall problems,so I'm wondering if it could be a side effect of Zoloft.

Has anyone experienced this while taking Zoloft.

I had some abdominal pain, diarrhea, and cramping, took a good probiotic and took Meds with food. Helped a lot

Thanks Lorraine,I have chronic bowel problems as it is so maybe the Zoloft aren't suitable for me.

Zoloft does cause looser Bowels and gas,so get on a good probiotic from your health store, really helped that for me. I am tiny and can't afford to drop anymore weight

Thanks, but unfortunately I can't take probiotics due to having only 2 metres of small bowel.I have stopped the Zoloft for the time being to see if that helps the problems I'm having, sick of pain and nausea.

I am the same , been on Sertaline 3 months and I am weaning myself of them , I don't have a gallbladder but I am still getting the pain under my right breast, constant burping and wind and stomach bloated , I have been prescribed antacid tablets but nothing helps , I feel your pain .

Thanks Sharon your symptoms are identical to mine,my stomach distension has been so bad it's noticeable to others. My pain under the ribs has lessened but it's only been 3 days, hope it doesn't take too much longer.Get well.

The gas is very uncomfortable, that will settle, it did for me. You may not have any friends for awhile😜😜

Until I see my doctor I have stopped taking them until I find out my test results,my symptoms are only slightly better but I can't eat much as my abdomen distends from my ribs to beneath my navel the pain is terrible.

Should you go to the clinic, can you pass gas, I am a nurse, make sure your bowels are moving, abdominal distention is not something to ignore,

Hi Lorraine yes I am passing gas also having bowel movements,I do get this way sometimes due to only 2 metres of small bowel also adhesions. My doctor wants me to have surgery but I don't want to end up with an ileostomy bag as the surgery for adhesions in 2008 left me with this chronic problem. I will see my gp this week and see what she says, thanks for your concern, take care
