Hello, Ive been on 25mg of zoloft for 5 weeks.....Is it normal to have side effects that wont go away. I feel like Im starting to have increased sweating, especially at night. Not like totally drenching night sweats but just wake up in the middle of the night sweaty. My health anxiety is kicking in and I am concerned with cancer, etc that could be causing this! Help someone

Hi Michelle I also sweat more and have done since I started taking these meds and I've been on mine 4 months. Sounds like your anxiety is still quite strong, 25mg is a low dose maybe you should go back to your doctor and discuss this, everyone is different but at 4 weeks you should feel a slight improvement on your anxiety xx

Also lost 14 lbs, but I know that is the anxiety, burns a lot of calories worrying all the time. Have you tried online meditation, lots to choose from, I find it helps. Hang in.

Hi Michelle, you can't shake it because it's an illness and it's not until you feel better that you realise how ill it can make you. I would seriously go back to your doctor ask them to do some blood tests or anything the can do to confirm that your physical health is ok then you can really work on your anxiety, I know how exhausting it can be and I hope you get the all clear from your doctor on your physical health. This drug has literally changed my life it has worked wonders for me but it's taken a while to find the right dose I started on 50 but I'm now on 120. Is never taken anything before this I'm 34 and had suffered years with anxiety I used to worry about everything, good luck I would be really interested to hear how your n xt docs appointment goes xxxxxxx

I have increased sweat since being on the medication as well.  The first two weeks I actually woke up drenched and had to shower a few times.  I started on 50mg, and had just about every side effect possible, I dropped to the 25mg, but after 3 days of that dose my anxiety came back on full force, but most of the side effects stopped.  I went back up to the 50mg, side effects did not come back with the exception of fatigue & sweat, but nothing like in the beginning.  My anxiety levels were still high, so I have increased to 100mg.

So far so good... anxiety seems to be less every day, and the side effects have stayed away.  I will take a little excess sweat & fatigue over the anxiety attacks any day!

I think you should talk to your doctor about an increase dosage...
