Zoloft and burning tight muscles after two days

i had my first and rather large panic attack this week that prompted a hospital visit. i followed up with my primary care physician a few days later and they prescribed me Zoloft at 100mg.

Around the end of day one i began noticing a burning sensation in my quads. It wasn't terrible and I could walk but the sensation worsened when i yawned. The next morning, i got up and took it easy but the pain increased. i got a massage at our local therapist who commented about very tight muscles in that area. After, i applied a salonpas to my right leg and took some acedamenaphin but the pain increased to 6 out of 10.

I called my pcp back and he immediately to stop taking it. Has anyone else experienced anything like that?

JDC, starting out at 100 mg seems pretty high. I started on 25 mg and it helped me a lot. My pcp upped my dose to 50 mg after 6 weeks of doing well. The 50 mg was too high for me. I had loud ringing in my ears, and felt extremely depressed. I started having heart palpitations which is why I was put on the Zoloft in the first place. The cardiologist check me out and said I had PVC's which are harmless, but driving me crazy. My pcp diagnosed me with GAD - General Anxiety Disorder. The 25 mg helped me greatly. Stopped the palpitations etc. I even tried taking the 25, and cutting one in half to take 37 mgs then upped it to 50. Just too much for me. My pcp said everyone is different, so if the lower dose works, stay with that. 100 seems awfully high to start with. I'm 6'4 and weigh 198 lbs. So to me the 25 mg is a very low dose, but it works for me.
