Zoloft and having a drink

I’ve been on sertraline for a year and two months now at 62.5 mg and I was put on it due to a nurse practitioner putting me on a medication that I should’ve never been put on and it caused serious problems and along with it cane insomnia and anxiety. I can say that it has helped me although I hate the fact that I’m on this medicine but is what it is right now. Anyways, my question is, I would like to know opinions and advice on having a drink. No, I don’t drink but there has been times recently I just wanna tried some but afraid to.  Any advice, experience, anything on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Hi Dawn,

I don’t drink when I first start the medication. But I have been on it for almost 6 weeks now and have started having a couple of drinks and had no issues. When I was on it last time for 1.5 years I could drink what I wanted and it didn’t do anything, in fact my hangovers weren’t as bad! Maybe try a small drink at first and see how you get on.

I’ve drank several beers on sertraline with no major problems at all.
