Zoloft Dose Increase Side Effects

I'm wondering if what I'm going through right now is normal. My biggest fears are that I'll never be okay again. I will obviously reach out to my Doc if it continues but don't want to call for every little thing that I get.

Last Saturday I increased my Zoloft (Dr's orders). I've been on it for ~8 or 9 years. I increased from 50 MG to 62.5 MG.

  1. Day 1-3: Felt fine. Relaxed, a little sedated. Much better than the days before the increase.

  2. Day 4: Nausea and panic attack.

  3. Day 5: Lack of appetite & panic attack.

  4. Day 6: Jittery, 3 severe panic attacks including a nocturnal one which is rare for me.

5.Day 7 and 8: More of the same jittery/panicky (worse anxiety than before I increased the med). (My period is due on Sun, or Monday, but it usually makes me depressed/tired not jittery.

Are the above a sign the meds are working, or not working? Or too soon to tell? Anyone go through this?

thanks in advance!

what you are going through is completely normal! honestly. I'm very panicky and never had panick attacks before starting sertraline.

it is way too soon to tell but increased anxiety/panic/depression/nausia/dizzynes/no appetite/ insomnia/itching/ and many more are all common side effects x doesn't mean you will get them all.

a lot of people say if you don't get side effects it's less likely to work, this isn't true for everybody.

also a lot of people say that the worse the side effects the more likely they are to work.

this also isn't always the case.

the best way to tell is to stay the course for atleast 8 weeks at the earliest.

the side effects should last for a few weeks then settle down

I know the I will never get better. I still have that now it's your anxiety lying to you because it feels so horrible to feel the way you do so worrying you wont get better is completely normal x

Yeah, it's normal. Any increase in the meds will start you on the roller coaster ride of side effects. I have never been spared any of the ones you have mentioned when I increase, even after being on them a long time. Can I ask why you increased you dose? I've learned not to mess with my dose unless absolutely necessary. Too disrupting.
