Zoloft Erectile Issues

I just got on Zoloft four days ago for anxiety. It's the first time I've ever been on an antidepressent. Anyway, I've had the typical side effects like insomnia and teeth chaterring but they seem to be getting better. The side effect that is most annoying is ED. I can't get aroused at all until late at night or early morning, which would be when the drug is at its lowest point because i take it when i first get up around 7am. Anyway, when I'm able to get aroused at those times, it's the strongest errection I've had in a long time (I'm 29 years old) and it takes me a long time to finish. I'm not complaining about the strong errection, but just my inability to do anything at all outside of late at night or early morning. Does that get better with time or should I go ahead and see my doctor?

Honestly I would go see my doctor. I have been on different antidepressants throughout the last 10 years and this one Setraline/Zoloft was the worst. I was on a low dose of 25mg once a day. I had severe joint pain & stinging in my fingertips like bees had stung me. It was awful. Not to mention waking up with my hands in a clenched position like someone in their late 80's with severe arthritis. I have been off this medication for 3 months now and all those nasty side effects have gone away. I wouldn't recommend this drug to my worst enemy!!! Good Luck!

Get used to it....zoloft has that effect and it does not get better try reducing dose or ask your doctor for a different antidepressant.

David, what dose of Sertraline are you on? I started taking 25 mg. I also had a problem with ejaculation. I could achieve erection, but had difficulty with ejaculation. After about a month, it seems to have gotten some better. Give it a little time. Depending on your dose, maybe cut down to a lower dose for a while. See if that makes a difference.

give it a few months and it will settle down. ive found 50mg an absolute lifesaver for anxiety.
